So, not that it is worth much but here's my take: this is either A) remarkably brilliant absurdist humor, or (much more likely) B) a really horrible commentary. While the train ride is long and "tedious" as you called it, I think you completely blew your chance to capitalize on the commentary potential of this remake. While we all know generally the sequence that happens on the train ride, the new take on it I'm should be able to inspire a ton of things to say. There was obviously much more decoration and hints of life around the Black Mesa complex. And while I'm sure a ton of people will be playing it soon and seeing these things for themselves, you did little to endear the viewer to want to watch the next installment whether or not they've seen it before or will soon. You could have commented on how cool the water drips on the front window looked, or the way they made sense of some of the pauses along the way like that guard station that wasn't there in the original, or any number of things. In fact, I think you should consider a redo to this, even if it is only at the end of the series as a sort of "bonus" and then label this as part of your blooper reel.
