So I finally decided to become a decent human being and turned off adblock for TL a couple of months ago. At first everything was fine. I got ads for smart phones and online games like poker and stuff.
But things took a bad turn. I've been getting these disgusting ads for 1-2 weeks now where an old lady peels her face off. It's fucking gross. And then there is the one where some ugly woman spreads some red goo on her face that looks like gore or something. The ads say "Mom publishes free facelift secret that has angered doctors".
Wtf does that even mean? It's really dumb and quite off-putting. I'm turning ABP back on until further notice. I call for TL staff to stop hurting their site with weird and gross ads like this. I mean, I can handle semi-embarassing stuff like "asian dating" and stuff like that. But these ads are too much. Does TL have any kind of control over this stuff or are the ads just kind of random? Or based on your activity on the internet? But then how does a pretty normal guy get weird ads like this?
Am I the only one having this issue? What kinds of ads are people getting?

Yeah the "russian brides" and "muslim wives" ads are annoying but I can live with them. I used to have the old lady peeling off and I agree with your sentiment on how terrible it was. Then for some time I had the "don't hurt this elephant" even though I don't use adblock (probably something bad enough that chrome would deny it regardless). Now I have Western Union and some real estate stuff, so I'm happier.

I had to turn AB on for a bit because I kept getting these horrible Mitt Romney ads, which are bad enough on their own, but if you accidentally moused over them at all they expanded and started playing clips. Go to website feedback if you are having an issue.

I don't think tl controls which ads are shown. I kinda agree with you - i sacrifice my eyes for esports!

TL doesn't control which ads are shown. We can only block certain ads, if you report them to us in this thread. The ads are actually based off of your browsing history, so I don't know what you've been looking at. =P

yea the anti aging ads (old woman peeling goo off face) is pretty bad, but you get used to it

Thats the main reason why I have adblock in the first place. I tried to make an exception for TL but I was bombarded with troublesome ads.
