Besides, explaining subjects in a simpler way is much harder than adding layers of terms onto the most specific things....it's the whole "surjective" vs "onto" argument...it doesn't really fucken matter, not when you're writing for anything worth anything. And topology is the sucks unless you're doing theoretical phys w/ regards to universe-scale related stuff. It helps abstract things but it's not very applicable lololols.... | ||

Other than that, they walk around in packs and don't want to study with me at the library even though I'm really nice. Bro, Asian-American girls are the most anti-social, insecure, awkward girls I've come across. It's NOT because they hate you, it's the fact they get anxiety when confronted by someone who 1) they don't know at all; 2) they don't hang around with all day long (eg. their clique/groupies); 3) is not Asian; and/or 4) if extremely fobby, not of the same East Asian nationality. If you ever want to date an Asian girl, either be in a scenario where you hang around them all the time, or be an insane motherfucker like me and make successful approaches to get to know them and humor them. I've been in Oregon all summer and when I'm not hanging out with other interns or working, I'm going to bars/lounges and meeting female strangers lol. Useful talent toi have in the real world when you're not living on a campus with 1000s of students within a thousand feet. Just by being not Asian, you're basically excluded from the overwhelming majority of Asian girls out there because 1) they may not date non-Asians; 2) they may not date at all; 3) they are too socially awkward; 4) ethnocentric, or 5) too insecure. I'm in the same boat. Even if Asian girls were good looking on average, it would not be worth it. I only bothered because I had the worst yellow fever ever. That said, there are two "classes" of A-A girls. The first is the one described above, where the girls are of varying degrees of fobbiness (from barely to extreme), parents were immigrants, tend to be ethnocentric to some degree, really insecure, and not too social, etc. The other type, you will sometimes meet the type of Asian girl that "hates" anything to do with Asian stuff, and is completely Americanized. If you really have to have an asian girl, go for that kind, but they're essentially American, ie. don't expect them to be loving kpop and anime and act like little girls (which in my case, is a good thing). I once dated a cute little asian girl and they are more insecure than an unsafe package at Vietnamese border control. My god.. this quote brought up so many painful memories. | ||

Undergrad = in uni; junior = 3rd year. He's 19 or 20 years old, I think. He's doing stuff that a very good graduate student would be learning while doing maybe his 3rd year of research. I would venture to say that he knows more algebraic geometry / algebraic topology than all but maybe one or two other undergraduates in the world, and more than most graduate students too. Also, Terence Tao links to his blog. Anyway, enough fanboying... the point is there's always smarter/more knowledgeable people out there, but you should be making a sincere effort to be improving yourself. (And no, I'm pretty sure the point of category theory is not to make things not understandable, but to link together concepts at a higher level, and thus easier to understand. Math is all about making connections!)
