Yo Hey Sup
Alright, so you might remember me, probably not. I started writing a blog called " The Road To Gold" and as a matter of fact I got there. Hazaah. However since I'v been here I have obviously hit the wall and stopped 1v1'ing at all. However I want to get back into it because of the Beta.
I know I could get more help in the respective thread of this, however I dont like following a strict format in my threads so Blogging it up. No rules. Woot!
alright, so enough chit chat, lets get into it.
First game in a looong time. Here is replay
http://drop.sc/248014
cool cool, have a look-see
It was a Random player, and I was feeling kind of nervous. through out the match I made a few mistakes like canceling my hatch, etc etc.
I think I did overall well, please keep in mind I have only been playing 4v4's so it was weird playing 1's again.
How could I have done better? I will be putting everything said into consideration and implementing it into my next game.
Thanks guys!

I think the problem is that you're asking us how you think you should play better. The main problem sounds like you just don't know how to analyze games. Perhaps you should learn the time it takes for buildings to build, and units to build. Don't get supply blocked ever. You need practice consistent play, so that you don't practice bad builds as often, and have bigger win streaks..
Keep up the hard work

I get what you are saying. Yeah I was very vague on what I was asking. Looking for pointers and such, anything that would help me improve. learning the timings would be one of them, macro could have been a lot better, but a few weeks ago i would end the game with around 40 drones, now I end the game with atleast 70+.
Other then that, yeah thanks for the advice.

Well there is one thing. I noticed at the beginning that you pulled 4 drones off your mineral line to take out the pylon blocking your natural expansion, but I think it would've been better to just leave them mining and keep making drones at your main, and then when your spawning pool is ready make two pairs of lings to take out the pylon and a queen. That way you'll have a much better economy, and if you somehow end up having too many drones at your main, you can just maynard/transfer them over later. That's also what I notice pro players do when they get pylon blocked.
If you're going pool first at around 14 supply, I don't think its really possible for them to cannon rush you all that well if that's what you were worried about (that generally only happens when you go hatchery first). Although I would recommend holding off on your gas and going straight for 14 pool first...because you don't really need speed that early in the game anyways, its better to build up more drones, queens, and defensive spine crawlers first. But really I think you could go either way.
So I think if you get the opening down and remember to position a few lings outside his base or at the watchtowers, you should have enough time and a strong enough economy to defend against his small 4 zealot push. I think generally you were doing pretty well in other areas. Of course lots of people endlessly talk about creep spread, but it really isn't that crucial at gold level. You basically just need to make sure you inject your hatcheries on time, don't get supply blocked, and have a good economy + scouting to defend early and later attack.
I think if you want a really good general guide you should watch filterSC's youtube videos (here). He does a bronze to masters guide for terrans and is now doing one for zerg (he's already several videos in). He teaches you what the most fundamentally important parts of zerg play are and how to master those...in fact he explains how you can win every game from bronze to around platinum using just good injects, a strong two base economy, and roaches (no micro, no scouting, no creep spread). Barring the exceptional early cheese of course...I think his advice on those matters is similar to what I gave you though (map awareness).
