The first big Starcraft II tournament I ever saw was TSL 3. I didn’t know anything about these players, except BoxeR, but inherently had a dislike for NaNiwa (this faded with time though). When Thorzain won, my first taste of E-Sports was over, and I had wanted more. Over a year later, and we find ourselves at most likely the most anticipated tournament of 2012, TSL 4.
More than half foreigner, and yet my hopes are rather low. With NaNiwa out first round, rather begrudged, leaving the final game with a sarcastic congratulations, I would hate to point out the changes of a non Korean winner, better yet non Korean finals… I’ll just be realistic, we will probably have a Korean top four in the most anticipated foreigner tournament of the year. No HuK, no Stephano, Mana, SaSe and NaNiwa out… it looks grim.
Looking at the top of the Bracket, Thorzain and HasuObs, one proven to be able to compete with Koreans, one that has the skill to defeat him. Thorzain will have to show his best in every match up to be able to make it top 4. Take down HasuObs, use that momentum to over come ST. Hack, who not only managed to take a game off JYP in last seasons GSL Code A, but 2-0 Code S player IM Happy. If Thorzain can keep it going he will have to face either Creator.Prime, who showed great PvT, taking out former GSL Champion Jjakji, or GSTL killer, Slayers Coca. It’s not impossible, but I wouldn’t bet on the Swedish hopeful.
The next quarter of the bracket. Well I personally expect it to see Taeja in the finals, as he is on fire right now. So as long as First can’t beat Taeja, neither Nerchio, Darkforce, or Beastyqt stand a chance getting to the top 4.
Next quarter, we see Kas and 3 Koreans. Squirtle I can see making it to the finals, and thats who my bets are on, so lets just say that. If Kas can beat Life, great, doubt it, but great. Both Squirtle and Curious are out of Kas’ league, and lets just say I would love to be proven wrong.
Now my favorite quarter, the bottom bit of the bracket. Vortix vs Keen. Do I think Keen will win? Yes. Do I think Vortix has what it takes to beat him? Yes. I mean he all-killed Empire in the IPL TAC 3, beat SeleCT to qualify, and has a very strong practice partner in his brother Lucifron. Keen on the other hand hasn’t been consistent with his TvZ, not playing a single Zerg in the last GSL, and beating Symbol in his last appearance in the MSI Pro Cup, but than losing to Violet. Also we have Major vs JonnyREcco. Major not dropping a single map in the WCS Mexico, and coming off a clean win vs Hyun, having spend so much time in Korea, but JonnyREcco taking 3rd in the WCS UK, and taking down NaNiwa has what it takes to beat him. My logical guess out of these four, Keen. My hope Major, all the way!
We’ll have to wait and see if my predictions come true, but the way the Koreans are looking in this tournement, I think we will need a Major miracle!

I know the article is blunt and opinionated, but tried to use results to support my arguments
