Hey guys, first of all I would like to thank the almighty. Whoever is up there is truly looking out for me.
Saturday night I experienced one of the worst accidents ever. I have been in 2 prior accidents and out of the two only one of them was bad. I came out of that one with only a few bruises and cuts (a semi rammed us as we exited the freeway).
Last Saturday my brother and I were coming back from a birthday party around 1 in the morning. We were cruising down the 57 north freeway at around 70 miles per hour and out of nowhere everything went to shit. A women in her mid 20's had hit us from the side at 90 miles per hour. After the impact, I saw her car swirl in front of me and my initial reaction was to maneuver out of the way. Unfortunately, I had no control of my car. A few seconds later we hit the center divider and everything went blank.
My bro and I were passed out for a few minutes before an on-coming driver stopped and woke/helped us out of the car. As I stepped out of the car, I first looked at my brother and my self to make sure we were okay. I had a few cuts on my face and bruises on my body. My brother broke his arm, but other than that we were all okay. The lady who hit us was drunk out of her mind and also exhibited very little marks. Then came the confusion.....WTF just happened? I glanced at my car and at hers. Tears started coming as I realized I had just survived a shit hole of an accident.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my car. Had gotten the BMW 8 months ago and it was a complete mess.
At the end of the day, fuck the car. Screw my laptop, my keyboard, and computer. The hell with everything that was in the car. I am here alive and kicking.
Just wanted to share my thoughts.
P.S. Think twice before you enter an automobile drunk. It might be your life next.

Crazy story man, good thing you're alright. Could you clarify this bit though- You were on the freeway (on ramps and shit) and someone hit you from the side? LIke perpendicular 90 degrees or kinda slammed side to side or what?
I'm imagining her crossing from the far right lane and smashing into you in the inside lane or something. Crazy shit.

I was driving on the second lane to the right of car pool. I am not too sure if she hit me head on or from the side of her car, she had damage on both sides. I think she lost control of her car, did a 90 degree spin, then hit the side of my car and the front, then proceeded to spin in front of me. I was talking to the cops about it and they were also very confused as to how the accident occurred. From what I recall, it seemed like she had lost control well before she hit me.

that's crazy. I'm glad you're still with us. Any post-accident mental trauma or are you ok?

Man, being in a car accident sure puts your feet on the ground. While not as bad as yours, I was also in an accident on the freeway where a huge ass truck drove into the back of our car, making it spin out of control. While it never hit the divider, the car came to a stop facing the wrong way in the other lane, had there been a lot of cars, it would have turned into one hell of a frontal collision and I might have been dead today. While it can be traumatic, the feeling you explain in the end of your blog is not a bad one. Fuck minor things like cars and computers as long as you're healthy.

Yeah, all I can say is that's fucking crazy. Glad you're ok.

Fucking drunk drivers man..such scum

I wouldn't exactly thank anyone for getting me into a car accident but leaving me alive. I'm happy that you're all right, though.
|
Wow that was very lucky :O Glad ur ok. What happened to the lady though?

this is why I hate driving a+ Show Spoiler +
If I had the money I'd get a big fucking monster of a car and I wouldn't have to worry about mortality when I'm travelling.
