You step on him once, and he's just gone. In Code B, you either step on this guy or you don't. If you choose to just jump over him, you're fine, and you get on with your life. But if you decide to step on him, you've just taken your first step into the world of SCII. Unfortunately, this guy is super weak and insignificant, which is why you've only stepped into Code B.

This guy is Code A Qualifiers


You have taken your first leap. (the goomba) Now things are getting serious. The beloved castle lies in wait for you (GSL) but to get there, you need to go through this little bastard. Jump on him once? Cool, he won't bother you anymore. BUT WAIT! He's still in your way! GAH! Jump again, and THIS TIME! Bastard goes flying! There we go..... BUT DAMN IT! HE'S HEADING RIGHT BACK AT YOU! Best 2 out of 3? Bring it you damn turtle.

This guy is Code A


Wait what? Didn't I just beat you? Oh wait..... U HAVE MOTHER F*ING WINGS!!! Yes sir.... now we've really reached the Wings of Liberty. This bastard just kicked it up a notch. U have to step on him once to get rid of the wings, then step on him twice to freeze him, then step a 3RD TIME to finally get rid of him. (Ro 48, Ro 32, Ro 24)

These bastards are Up/Downs


Hmmm...... seems familiar..... but WTF BBQ SAUCE! HE'S THROWING HAMMERS!! Up/Downs is absolute hell. In order to make it to Code S, you have to play a maximum of 15 games when there are 6 players, and a maximum of 10 games when there are 5. Which is just agonizing and odious..... In Super Mario, you never stop running into these guys. And yeah, you could just run past them, but we all know the gamers inside us won't feel at ease until we've bumped their asses out of here.

CONGRATULATIONS! You've finally made it! You are now at the most prestigious placement worldwide! Be warned, what you have faced up till now was only a ruler that measured your potential. In here, it will be a true testament to who you truly are. Because in here, you will now face the biggest and baddest mofuggas of all time. Don't worry.... just relax.... take a deep breath and face hi- FML HE'S THROWING FIRE! QUICK! JUMP OVER HIM! RUN UNDER HIM! DO SOMETHING! GET THAT TROPHY!!!

This beautiful thing is Self Confidence


Whether it be the ESV Korean Weekly, the Playhem Dailys, the CSN All Stars Weekly, the IPL FCs, the NASL SSDs, etc, it doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is, if you win something, you get a huge self confidence boost. You've just won something and you feel damn proud of yourself. U don't get any imba seeds into the GSL, but you get publicity, respect, recognition, and the mentality boost that you are a baws. Basically, you get "bigger."

This imba thing is MLG/EWM/Any other Seed into Code A


I mean come the f*ck on..... If you can just imagine the pain and suffering people go through every month trying to get into the GSL..... Now I'm not saying that these Code A seeds are a given because a) the players that grab them DO deserve them, and b) the players that get these seeds go through a plethora of hellish games to get in. But.... it just seems kind of unfair that you can just bypass the system like that and get in a different way.....

How many players do you think walked out of that GSL booth thinking "fml it's all over..... I will never be a champion...." The answer? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! But do you know what kept them from breaking down? The coaches baby.... Every time it felt like game over, they all of a sudden got a wondrous and miraculous green mushroom fall from the sky. And then they heard a melodious *ding a ding a ding!* And felt like they could give it another try. Just ask MMA/Jjakji/Mvp/MarineKing/etc. etc.

An entirely different format and environment, but u know what? U still play against all those people who you are trying to beat and become the champion. You're still representing your team. You are still trying to win and be above the rest. And when it's all over, you come back to the GSL feeling prideful and confident. (if you win) Or you come back with a burning passion for vengeance and justice (if you lose).

Thx for reading guys. Being stuck in Korea sucks.... My comp can't handle any games cause it's old. I also can't play any games because my parents will get angry. I can't go to PC Bangs because it costs money. (I've gone before, I just can't go frequently because even though it's relatively cheap, it all eventually adds up) So.... yeah.... I was pretty bored....
