the reason it "works" in internet explorer is because it doesn't work in internet explorer. That browser doesn't have any html5 support, so the flash player is always used regardless of your beta participation status. It's not operas fault for "fucking with youtube formats", it's youtube's fault for putting you in beta participation without telling you and making both players basically look 100% identical except for very minor differences.
