Attitudes like that could stagnate the pro scene and we'll stop getting killer unknown runs like scarletts @ IPL There's a big difference between dreams and reality. While many people dream of becoming like MC, Mvp and Nestea (the three biggest earners), with all the fame and fortune, reality is that not many people can achieve that. It's called a reality check. According to sc2earnings, only 10 people earned more than $100k, and only a paltry 56 people earned more than $20k. Let's not talk about salaries, because few progamers draw a decent salary. The reality is, progaming isn't like some dream job. The amount of effort put in and the rewards that come from it leave much to be desired. If you want to be a progamer, first check if you have the mental strength to practice 8-12 hours a day, every day of the week, for months and even years. Then, make sure that you have financial support to pull you through the entire duration of your progaming career; let's face it you're not going to be making much money. Finally, consider if you want to sacrifice years of the best part of your youth on a career that is almost doomed to fail. Why am I being so negative? Because people jump into these kinds of things without good consideration of their future. It's just saddening to see so many youths wasting their years away on some futile pursuit of fame and fortune. | ||
