Starcraft is a game similar to a woman seducing men, letting them see what the relationship could blossom in to, then taking it away just before they fulfill their desire.
Likewise, It looks bleak and full of strife when I contemplate getting masters on KR. On hour I could go on a 5 game winning streak, one session I can start playing masters. But lose a game, all your work to gain your MMR is to nothing.
As a result of playing at a time when actual Korean and Taiwanese people (Whats the shorter way of saying Taiwanese plural? Taiwaneses?) are at work or school the matchmaking system has a significant reduction in player pool, meaning that the range it needs to choose from is much greater.
On a streak, it will place you against opponents more and more difficult than you. After I got back from school today at about 16:00 PST, I played 8 games and won them all. I didn't just win, I DEMOLISHED everyone, even the masters players.
I took a break.
Then I got roach rushed. After a loss, the matchmaking system will place you against weaker opponents. Then the same guy roach rushed me. My MMR keeps dropping. I get roach rushed again, by the same person. I have now lost about 30-40 points to this guy. I get a new match finally. I get roach rushed by a low diamond. I play a 5th game, and lose to a reaper, hellion, banshee opening into mech which pissed me off because I deflected the early pressure WITH EASE. I consider the build a complete joke and consider anyone who uses it to be a fool. Then the mech followup came, I was trapped in my base under threat of hellion counter attack allowing him to mass up an army and win. Back to low diamond MMR.
I'm on tilt, I take a break. And here I am. I feel like a failure.
Here I am bitching about my losses on ladder instead of continuing to play. I'm not getting better by writing this blog that you guys have read identically for the umpteenth time. Yet I don't have a practice partner to teach me to hold off a roach rush. I can't message anyone saying 'hey, can you spare 15 games worth of time to help me with this strategy?"
If I really want to get on to a team to have access to these things, not professional, mind you, I have to get better. I can't keep entering recruitment tourneys and losing in the first round to a simple 3 gate expand. Or denying the protoss forges 3 times in a single game, and still be unable to make any significant attacks to capitalize on it. No-one will take me seriously as a diamond terran.
I keep saying that I want to be on a team, because I hope that if I ever got on one, that they will be as patient as I am when it comes to learning something. The practice partner thread is great, if you want to play 3 games and never play the person again. The old stalwart friends I have made over the time of my playing SC2 don't have the patience to play me past 3 losses of theirs, and all members of teams won't practice with me because they have their own team with better, more qualified, and established terrans to spar with.
So again. I'm on tilt, I'm writing a boring blog to hopefully pass the effect and I am lamenting about something out of my control and would not affect me if I just played better.
Well shit, don't know how to end this blog, so I'll just give you a song to listen to.
+ Show Spoiler +There should be more BBC buttons on the post interface, if anyone has connections to R1CH you should let him know.

My advice: take a long, long break, and get a different RTS to cleanse your pallet after matches. Don't play SC2 if you don't enjoy it, because you'll get burnt out really quickly.
Some games I'd recommend:
Sins of a Solar Empire Warcraft 3 C&C: Red Alert 2 (they're all fantastic, but 2 is my favorite just because of Tanya's INSANE laughter)
I had the same problem as you in that the game just started feeling like a huge grind. I took a break and now I can tackle it again with fresh eyes. It just takes time.

I don't want to give the impression that I hate the game. It is my source of joy, it is also a great source of sadness.
For all the streaks on which I feel on top of the world, there are times when I get on a losing streak and it only makes me mad because I feel like I made no progress.
I've been playing for almost 2 years now without any burn out. In fact, going from SC2 to other games feels boring and not fun. I would try broodwar, but my experience in that is that when you're D rank, you're REALLY F rank and then my iccup launcher broke so I never touched it again. Maybe if I fixed it I would play with some school friends, but then my inherent skill at RTS would make me way better than them, much more quickly, and I would not have fun.

Even still, you should take a break. Taking some time away from the game will let you come back with a fresh perspective, fresh hands, etc.
Just my opinion though. I hope you find a solution!

i'm pretty sure heartbreak is worse than losing 10 games straight of starcraft...
just take some time to think about how much of a first world problem you're having right now.
edit : great what a way to spend your 2k post eh

I have no experience with heart break, and I could also say to every guy who makes a girl blog about a breakup that he has a stupid first world problem when children in Africa don't have food.
Now I'm back to my, I don't know a good word for it, I guess cynical comes close enough to it, self. Yay I've made an ass of myself again, bit of a waste of your 2,000th post though.
I thought you meant me at first o.o

you lost to roach rush by the same guy 3 times in a row? more like your real rank is bronze... wtf. edit: re reading your post i guess you are just venting some but how hard can it be to hold roach rush, I suppose it would be hardest as P, but still just watch the damn replay and figuring something out shouldn't be impossible for you^^ also as has been said, don't play starcraft if you don't enjoy it! plenty of other fun games out there!

It was an interesting variation where no queens were made. Meaning he got roaches at my natural before I could finish a marauder. Then on each roach rush afterwards, my bunker defence failed to do anything as his roaches and lings simply walked past the impossible to fully wall off naturals or picked off the SCV's and continued as normal.
