So it has come to this. I ponied up 90 bucks and got myself a drawing tablet, and it's been a blast drawing with it so far. That's not the say I'm entirely abandoning mouse drawing, since I still find there are some things easier to do with a mouse than a tablet. But we'll see as I get more familiar with the tablet.
I seem to recall someone calling for a picture involving hydralisks and spidermines in the last thread, so here's for you:
Full size here. + Show Spoiler +
A DT sketch done with my new tablet. The armor more Aiur-style, maybe reflecting cooperation between the two halves of the Protoss? (Or maybe reflecting me screwing up but being too lazy to change anything):
And finally, here's a zergling sketch I made before getting the tablet:
Full size here.
That's all for now!

Great job man! Keep em coming!! Congratulations on the tablet!

I really love the DT sketch, the lines give a really good impression of a slight but ninja-like warrior, good stuff

Very nice! I personally like the zergling the best, but the DT would be better if he was; say in a more heroic pose? Either way nice art! :D

Wait, you can draw that with a mouse?! I thought it was next to impossible, unless you have a ton of free time.
Anyway, cool!

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it's about half the fun of drawing these :D

aka the brand new Pen only version? I didn't even know it was called Connect... and ive been using one for a couple months now o_o love it to bits so far i first thought it'd be too small, after having used an A4+ tablet previously, albeit a shitty, non-wacom one, and the fact that i drew on A1 papers for a couple years at uni
feels good to draw small again :D
oh and it looks so gud

That zergling is sick, dude. You're pretty talented.
If I may suggest, maybe a broodlord or infestor for your next project? ;D

hey i got a question mr jyzblamo. my father loves to do sketches on pieces of paper with pen or pencil, he likes to draw mechanical stuff like aircraft, machines, and boats. would this bamboo connect fit him nicely? that zergling you drew was with the bamboo connect? if so it seems like this is a great tool for my father. do you recommend it? thank you!

TBH, I'm no authority on tablets in general or the Bamboo Connect in particular, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The tablet pen mimics the behavior of a real pencil/pen quite well. Does your father draw on larger canvases or on small sheets of paper? That seems important when considering the size of tablet for him. I'm used to drawing on ~A4 paper so the Connect was about the right size for me. The zergling was drawn using a mouse I'm afraid. That said, I'm very satisfied with my experience with the tablet so far, and I haven't even begun tinkering with the settings/configuration of it yet.

Love it. First hydralisk's colors and general shape reminds me of a Charizard :D
