In mid masters, I can actually say 70+ % of people BM me. I say glhf/gg and whatever, but even if I'm losing my opponent will bm with stuff like "get out" etc. This is on NA.
But when I play on the Korean server though, no one bms or anything. In fact most GG. Nowadays I'm playing most of my games on the Korean server BECAUSE of this.
I don't even care about stuff like glhf/ gg, but seriously every other person on NA has some 1-2 liner to say at the end of the game about my skill (when in reality I probably have better APM/mechanics than said players who claim to be "better" me in their insults). 90% chance after I leave the game (If i don't have friends-only chat on) that they will message me with some 1 liner as well.
I just find myself disliking the NA scene in general and am sad that such a large majority of the sc2 scene is this bad mannered. People like to say the the SC2 community is super nice, and surely a lot of it is, but when it comes to the ACTUAL game people are really really really really angry and BM. Sucks, but it's true. Again I'm not one of those strict people who freak out at no GLHF or gg, but the actual insults and 1 liners get tiresome after the first.. 50 times..

Dont know about NA but there is a fair amount of bm on the european server as well. I get offensive ggs and "leave" the most when it comes to bm.

Yes NA has the most BM because Most of NA is Americans. Over 50% of Americans are obese so the only way they can feel superior is to BM some random name on the internet.
My hardest BM line is: Nice All-in!

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal.
I actually don't experience an overwhelming amount of BM when I ladder on the NA server (maybe 1 in every 10 or 15 games at worst), and I've also seen/ heard that the EU and KR servers have BM as well.
Maybe NA is the worst-mannered ladder. Maybe the others are as bad or worse. It would be interesting to see a huge study on this. But you haven't done one.

I play on NA server and especially lately I've been getting things like offensive gg's and get outs virtually every game. Sometimes I get things like "dude it's over, get out" or "you're so bad". Sadly, it's really common.

I play till like 6-8 am every night, and i'm sorry but you couldn't be further from the truth.

i can only speak for the streams i watch but EU seems just as vile as NA, for protoss players at least : D
its a lot of "joke race", "lucker" type stuff rather then calling everyone ghey and whatnot on NA server

I do play a lot of BM people. But usually they BM you if you are beating them. I use to respond back to them, but now I don't. I use to be pretty BM on wc 3, but not anymore....i grew up lol

Yeah NA is pretty much trash when it comes to manners. The problem is that the BM gets to your head in more than one way - if you lose and get BM'ed you feel like shit, and you win and get BM'ed you feel like you're God, which is counterproductive to learning.
Although occasionally I get bm'd on KR, most of the time it's very manner and I've met some super manner dudes there such as XellOsMvP, XenomorphIOv, uniCTool, and a bunch of others whose names are in korean and I can't spell. Another thing is that it feels like most of the KR masters players are in some sort of clan, which maybe makes them more accountable for their behavior? Idk. Also it's worth noting that e-harassment is a real crime in Korea, which maybe explains why there's less people threatening to gut my family after a loss.
Edit: most of the BM i get is from Taiwanese people thinking I'm korean, and vice versa. I had to get my chinese roommate to come translate some shit somebody was saying to me yesterday, only to determine that he was telling me that south korea was going to get nuked by north korea and that I was deserving to die - sure, OK buddy.

Dunno, I play on EU server, start every game with gl hf and end every one with gg, I get like 1 in 5 games some bm, and usually its when they lost so it isn't a problem. BM for me is only annoying if they say something like get out or offensive gg..

I experience this a lot too. I play in 3 servers SEA,NA,KR. Many of my opponents in NA don't seem to say glhf and gg when they lose. I experience this less on SEA and especially in KR server.

Argghh! People still think APM = skill??
I play on both NA and SEA, and for a while there NA was extremely full of BM, but it seems to have backed off now. It really bugs me though when people BM you after a match and they have their PM settings restricted to friends only. It makes me want to switch my PM settings like that, but at the same time I don't want to be antisocial because there are some good people out there that you meet randomly.
