I get about the same amount on NA as EU. Although NA has more native english speakers and their bm is often more...specific. Detailed.
And what I've seen of the TL chat channel on NA it's just kids trolling kids who are saying 'LOL YOU'RE NOT EVEN TROLLING'. It's weird.

When I lived in China, the people on the Chinese server weren't bm at all. Not that I speak chinese or anything (yet), but they'd never even... say anything. Just standard gl/hf, gg at the end, not much at all in between, ever, except for one person who was curious as to me being American. At the same time, I got cheesed there almost every game, and I had to adapt to that rather quickly.

So the NA server is funny to me, because here is where everyone complains the most about cheese and all-ins, but it's also the place where the least amount of cheese and all-ins happen. If I did half the stuff now that I saw on the Chinese server, I'd be trolled off the planet for it!

I don't encounter much BM on the EU server (diamond level). Every now and then you get someone bitching about Terran if I win, but the most common "BM" is when they try to downplay my "achievement" of beating them by giving some reason why they lost just before leaving "i'm so tired", "i made so many mistakes" or "i normally play protoss" (interestingly the guys profile page showed Zerg has his most played race) and stuff like that. But that's about it.

I have noticed a rise in number of people who try to pull off some standard cheese or all-in (think marine/SCV or 4-gate) and when it fails, they pause and type "has left the game!" in chat before unpausing hoping that it tricks me into thinking they've actually left. I just reply that i'm not buying it and proceed to kill their stuff. One guy actually left for real when I said he didn't fool me, which was mildly satisfying.

The lack of GG or GLHF on NA is more of a cultural thing. While it's considered manner to say that, it's not really BM to say nothing during a game.

out of over 15 games today on NA I think I got one gg from my opponents. It was a nice change that only 1-2 actually whined about balance/me being shit for once. I remember a long time ago low masters being the worst where every single game without fail some angry nerd would rage every single game.

I always wondered if in America nerds are treated as badly in high school as on tv? If you actually got wedgies and shit at school I can imagine why you'd feel the need to take your hate out on the internet...

Tbh though I think its just a cycle where people started being dicks and then others were dicks to get back at them and it just goes round and round. Ah wells, tools will be tools.

Same here, on EU serve in Platinum. I start every game with "gl hf" and end every game with "gg wp" and I only get BM maybe once in every 20 games. And even then I just ignore it completely and they stop.

My personal experience is that the american servers are worse when it comes to playing the game but way better at BMing you.

Then again has not the american starcraft scene always been BM central? I seem to recall watching Psystarcraft cast Yankee League or whatever it was called with Artosis bming the hell out of someone someone calling them "piece of newbie shit" and such?

Wouldn't know about EU but NA is significantly more BM then SEA or KR servers in my experience.

KR is hardly BM it's really fucken funny when they do, mostly because they have pathetic english (haha, son of bitch terran. Terran no mother!). Even had a guy BM me, hit me later that day and apologise for BMing. Wha?

I have a Terran account in masters on NA, and that definitely has more BM than my recently created plat Protoss account. I think people are more content with their position in plat, and by that I mean either they don't play that much, or they are intent on learning so they blame their own play, or like me, they are also off-racing.

But I have also heard stories of BM in the lower leagues, and that rage could come from lack of understanding of the game. Although, even though I'm in masters and my opponents are too, I still feel like we don't understand the game well sometimes haha.

Well since US-East was the #1 home of BM and maphacking in BW I would assume that the NA server is the worst in sc2 aswell.
However I only play on EU and dont get BM:ed that much,10% of the games perhaps.

I don't personally think its the server specific which has more, but look at what most gamers in general do these days. They play on things such as xbox live which is nothing but BM and to feel socially accepted they BM as well in other games along with on the social servers. Its a socialogical thing and shows they are emotionally invested which is not only stupid but a weakness, in my opinon.
