EPTAnd that‘s where it starts. With a sentence written on a page. One that holds no real meaning, wisdom or message. It´s merely words that exist simply because I willed it so. However, if you were to focus at what is not here, you would discover the underlying theme of these sentences. The lack of a message is in fact the message itself. Or rather, it‘s my search for the message that is the message I write about.
You see, I live a life filled with no meaning. I went to school for a few years, and then I gave up. I didn‘t really try that hard either. I live in an apartment with two of my best friends, or rather, my two friends. They, plus one other unnamed person, are the only people I‘ve really gotten to know in any fashion in the last six years or so. Or maybe the last twenty.
I am flawed in many ways. The list of things I don‘t really like about myself could fill this page, and then a few more. The real question is, what am I willing to do about it?
And that leads us back to this. A mission statement of sorts.
By putting these empty meaningless words down on a page, I have given my own life a meaning of sorts. I have acknowledged that I am not happy, even though I try to tell myself I am. And most importantly, I have acknowledged that I have spent the last twenty years being not happy, and not doing anything about it. Writing this is a start.
This is day one of many days to come. I now mark this moment, 05:26 on a Thursday, April 8 2012 as the moment before every moment to follow. It is the most important of times as I have set myself upon a journey of sorts. It is not a trip in the material sense of things though it may incorporate that eventually. It is not a trip in the psychedelic sense though I would like very much to experience that one day, if only to know.
Rather, it is a journey of words, published on a page in a sea of other words, likely to be drowned out by the mere fact that every letter here is a drop in the ocean of letters out there. As long as I continue to write, I continue to journey, and those that choose to experience it with me can do so as well. It is with these words that I set off, in search of adventures that will hopefully allow myself to be free from this torture of a life that I have decided to live. Welcome to my journey.
