So, today my father turned 60. Quite a big day.
When he was outside earlier, he found our cat, around 5-7 years old, dead. Looks like she quietly slept in. Guess she had a strain on her heart.
You know, we're all sad, but she had a happy life, and though I actually do miss her (I kinda find it silly to say so, but I do), I'm sure she's happy wherever she's gone.
I hope you guys treat your family, your friends, your pets, your beloved and even your own self well. Someday, they'll be gone, for better or for worse. I'm happy, sad and a bit nostalgic remembering of the times when she'd nestle up to me and purr happily like she always did.
Treat people with love while you can, TL.
OY.

RIP cat T_T
Did he/she have a name? What did your cat look like?

funny how much a pet dying can affect you my cat died about 4 years ago when i was 18. We had 2 but one was crap -_- i loved the one that died, i found out while i was at work, and ill be honest, i had to go on a break cos i cried a little. Cats give so much and want so little in return, all this BS about a dogs a mans best friend, i think its a cat. A cat will just come and sit with/on you, or sleep on your bed. They dont smell they dont take up much room and they dont make much noise. Perfect pets
im sorry for you loss i couldnt replace my cat cos i couldnt face it dying again

That sucks . Such a young cat, do you know what was the causa mortis?

Even tho I've never had a cat, you got my condolences. I know how it feels to lose a pet you love.

Condolences to your family about your kitty. I just lot my dog a few weeks back and TL blogged about it, hopefully the responses here have the same positive impact it had on me dealing with the loss of your pet.

My cat died about 2 years ago. It was especially hard on my little sister, that cat had been with her almost her whole life. She still sleeps with her ashes. Fuck, I loved that cat.

You must be young, well you have a 60 years old father, so you could not be that young. Well, what I try to say is that it sounds like it's the first time you lose a pet.
I've had so many cats when I was young. Up to 24 at the same time (with the babies... we had to, well, kill some), some I loved, so I didn't care about, some that were responsive, some with great/dumb personalities.
In my experience, the males always ended up disappearing at some point. No corpse, just gone. We would sometimes see them again, roaming.
Females however were staying home, and the oldest was terrorizing the younger ones. This pattern never failed to apply, as soon as the old female was gone, the next oldest would then claim "ownership" of our house, and terrorize every cats, friends or foe. Very matriarchal system, when I think about it.
I have not much else to say regarding your cat.
Always a sad moment when a cat with a great personality vanishes.

That is so sad. Your cat was only 5-7 years old? That's actually not old at all for a cat. I wonder if she may have had some kind of health issue that you weren't aware of. My cat is 8 and yes he is getting a bit more sluggish but he's still his old self for the most part. I will be devistated when he passes. All of us have a limited time on the planet and the older you get the more you realize just how short a time you have. I agree, give love freely and enjoy every day. Live is truly short. I'm 32 and really starting to notice these things.

RIP
any cute kitty pictures to share that we can honor her passing with?

That's how my cat died a couple of years ago. He was only 3 and just fell asleep in his favourite spot I'm sorry for your loss, it can be quite painful depending on how attached and close you were to the cat. Hope you'll feel better with time!
