Nah, this isn't a joke, with thousands of games played and through some bad luck and quick gg's i've hardly ever realistically gotten into the phase of the game in PvZ where you would even consider going mothership or god forbid carriers. I would always overextend my army, or gg after losing my army even when I was in an incredible position. I just had this mindset that you instantly lost the game if your protoss army died. Also, I tended to max out far too often on comps that were too gateway heavy.
Im loving the new 4 gas stargate builds, void ray into 5 phoenix + heavy sentry into earlyish third is a sick unit comp for scouting and reacting to the zerg. I stick the void ray on 2, stick the phoenix on tilde and just set them loose to harass the zerg at all times.
Then finally, one game I got my first mothership, about 2 weeks ago. WOW, a cool sight to behold and right in time with that scary as hell broodlord/infestor composition coming at my collo, archon, stalker ht ball. I prepare to vortex the dreaded z army and do the overpowered archon toilet all zerg complains about.
Turns out you should learn your unit hotkeys, I used mass recall and immediately lost the game
Oh well, in 3000 games i'll get another chance.....

i made them as a novelty factor in the early beta, but havent really made them since. ;-) unless i go mass carrier/void ray, but thats just for shits and giggles.

You should do it more often!!!
Motherships are the best thing ever. I think my favorite was when I mass recalled into my Zerg opponent's main ala Kiwikaki vs Stephano, then recalled out and defended his push

Actually i had one yesterday against mkengyn in the lan, it was a really good game back and forth, but my downfall was again overextending and maxing far too stalker heavy, I had a few archons/collosus but it didn't kill the vortexed units fast enough, hell even 2-3 more archons alone and i think i crush that battle instead of trading more inefficiently than i wanted. When my warpgate cooldowns are down, I just get into macro mode and fill up supply and reduce my money even though a heavier turtle style and a better max is 95% of the time the better option. Im starting to break the habit and take a lot more of these long PvZ games but damn it's such a hard habit to break.

Hope you get the chance to play with Motherships more often. They really do make the game that much more fun if used properly.

Motherships are awesome, but im in the same boat, I usually don't get to use them . Maybe once ive won with a 2 base timing i just shouldn't kill; and tech up to mothership for SNG but thats kinda mean.

The only thing that makes me more excited than seeing a mothership is calling down nukes. Its impossible to not have a good time. Even if you are losing.

The punchline made me laugh, nice one.

Mr Dime, you should make some Motherships at Barcraft. I will cheer.
