I happened to run into something interesting that should give us a nice chatty start. Now it's nothing completely recent but I would say its close enough since it's no more than 2 weeks ago. One of the major ISP in Canada announces the throttling of non-essential p2p games. Amongst one of these is SC2. While I can go into a huge rant how terrible the ISP is already, that not the point. The issue was that; after being approached by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) the ISP was given an entire year to fix a "low priority" issue.
As a gamer from Canada, and an aspiring caster for esports I'm fairly convinced that Canada's policy's are not in favour of gamers because they don't realize how big the gamer community in Canada really is. Quite frankly we only know that it is but a fraction of America's and can be considered minute compared to the population of gamers in Asia. However that does not mean they do not exist at all, in fact i'm fairly certain there's more gamers than we know.
I'm approaching you guys, here in this specific game community, team liquid members regardless of where your origins are if you got sometime help us with some brainstorming on to bring esports to Canada in a more effective manner.
That said, obviously I don't mind taking some initiative here, and i'm already feverishly working on getting an official website up and going. However my mind is currently filled with a bunch of "if only I had more help" and not enough brainstorming power to help finalize an action plan. If anyone is interested PM me or just below.
Phew okay now we can get on to the daily which is on the same topic but more specific to SC2.

Today we're discussing, about presence!
Presence can be defined as your existance. In SC2 map presence is an important aspect to the psychological warfare you have with your opponent. It goes very well with our theme of turning nothing into something. In this case, the aspect of having a presence of units on the field gives the illusion to your opponent that maybe you are mounting for an attack.
Different race have different methods of showing presence, for example Terran will op for Hellions because they are cheap and fast units. They can have a next step, as Hellion can serve as scouts as well as part of the main army. For beginning players, they know that maintaining presence is good in theory but they aren't really sure how to do it efficiently. As we move up from bronze to platinum players become more aware of doing small things such as pulling their scouts back.
However when we get into the game our fingers take over and we focus on the main action like pressing for an attack.
So how do we go about executing this presence properly? First we look at the practical end, we want to practice maneuvering our units preferably the cost effective ones and faster ones.
Candidates
Good candidates include Hellions for Terran, Zerglings or upgraded Roaches for Zergs and Stalkers for Protoss. Now notice these candidates are more than just simple scouts, they are base units for an army. Players should maneuver they’re faster units in a separate hotkey and lead with them.
Execution
When pushing the front door steps of an enemy it is often time more beneficial to poke in with your faster units and pulled back. This allows for an easier retreat and may pull a part of your opponent army with you. There’s a lot of theory in here, so players will feel like already know this.
Try watching your replays after a few games today maybe you guys will notice how often you simply box all your units and just 1A. When the fight happens your fast unit all die out before your main troops enter battles.
P.S. <<I realized including pictures might make this a lot more organized and visually pleasing>>
