I was at a StarCraft 2 tournament of some sort, and outside the spectator area was a station for people to chill out, and it had a PlayStation 3 with giant flatscreen TV, with various games available. Some big match was happening, so the area was deserted, except for some guy playing Tekken 6.
That guy happens to be BoxeR, and he was just finishing off an AI opponent. So I go up, gesture if I could play, and he picks up the second controller and hands it to me with a smile. I pick my go-to character, Ling XiaoYu, and BoxeR is playing a character that doesn't actually exist in real life, who plays like Mokujin, changing fighting styles each round, but also changes looks each round, and of course he's a baller with all the fighting styles.
We play a very intense first round, and I somehow manage to beat him. This is not necessarily as unrealistic as it sounds. First, I spent an entire summer mastering Ling Xiaoyu in Tekken 3, with those skills carrying into the sequels, and while I can't compare to a pro Tekken player, I give plenty of players a run for their money. Second, is of course who knows whether BoxeR actually plays Tekken in real life. He might indeed play for fun, but we all know how much pros have to practice for SC2, so I can't imaging BoxeR IRL having too much time to devote to mastering another game.
Of course, BoxeR being BoxeR, he rallys and beats me twice in a row, taking the set. I thank him for the excellent games, and start talking to him a little. In my dream, his English is excellent (not fluent, I guess my dream wanted to keep it real), but better than most of the other Korean players' English skills IRL. While we're talking, he gestures for me to follow him to a water fountain around the corner, and in the meantime we notice a crowd gather around the PS3 with people mentioning seeing BoxeR beating some fan (me) and hanging around to see if he (BoxeR) would come back to play some more.
We talk for another minute, and then BoxeR thanks me for a good game (swoon) and we shake hands. And just so my brain makes sure I know this is a dream (right before I wake up), as BoxeR is walking back to the PS3, someone pushes out this gigantic, futuristic-looking portable fan/air conditioner, and I yell "Hey, BoxeR, there's your biggest fan!"
