Last season i was like 900 point masters, rank 11. I was doing ok for the most part i even got some winning sprees and ended the season with a 48-30ish? record (too lazy to check). Generally i think my best matchups are.

so with this new ladder starting up i figure i'll try my hardest and just get top in my division asap and maybe aim for grandmaster but as the ladder started and i did like 30 matches today. BAM fucking went 8 - 16. Holy shit the worst i've ever done in masters and most of my losses are zerg i don't understand. I was doing fine last season, i guess people got.. better? or are trying harder? haha.
Sigh its very frusterating but also nice knowing i still have alot to learn i'm still mid masters, rank 40 but i hope to get back up to top 15 soon. Its just really really hard right now.

well im doing better than i thought, considering ive been a masters terran for like a year now, just switched to zerg for past 2 weeks or so, and im like 8-8 or something. lol so its better that i could ever have hoped for. I think its hilarious tho, no matter how big a win or lose streak is, it always balances. its ridiculous, 8 wins inna row, 8 losses inna row or some shit, toally insane!

I played the crap out of last weeks funday monday, but I'm terrible with terran so my MMR fell from plat to silver. I was demoted to gold, but have been dominating everyone. I'm like 13-2.

Perhaps it's because you're being placed against people who are doing their placement matches? People tend to try extra hard and be extra focused when they do. That mentality also carries over to probably the next 10 or so of their games since they're already in the mindset.

Yeah i noticed that no matter how good you do you will lose enough to make the score even. Crazy

the mmr is probably still evening out. i imagine more people are playing at the beginning of the season, and that tapers off at the end.

1st day of last season i went 8-16. felt terrible.
ended up at 157-155. the system will get you back to 50% don't worry.

Hi I play on EU, was top diamond last season and played vs masters a lot. But now I play almost only vs diamonds and they are much harder than some masters were last season. Did a bunch of masters get demoted or what? And even if I get to play vs masters they are on same level or lower than the diamonds I get. I am confused.

I did terrible my first like 15 games too, I went something like 2-11.
Now I'm almost even. Just keep playing :D

Metagame changes. My win rate drops every time people start doing new stuff. Like when people started doing ultras a while ago, or 8 gate into macro got popular. I am now sitting around a win for each loss, so i guess its all about stopping up and analysing whats going on, and adapt.

I usually have massive lose streaks at the beginning of a new season.
Like people said, Blizz matchmaking will kick in, and you always level off at 50%. Whenever I'm in the depths of a losing streak, I can at least look forward to the n00bs I will eventually be pwning to even out my winrate.
