For the past days i've been sitting at home with a bad cold and a swollen/sore throat. Been through this a lot of times, however yesterday i figured something's wrong with my right eye, not sure if it's in anyway related to the cold i'm experiencing.
So this right eye is red and there's pus (i think.. looks just like it, or some liquid matter white/yellow) coming out from it. I've never experienced something like this before. It doesn't hurt or anything - i can see just fine with it, maybe a bit itchy at times but about all. I've put some anti-alergic drops in it twice since yesterday, now the itch is gone, but still very red and runny.
Has anyone experienced this or has any idea wtf is it? I'll probably head to an ophthalmologist tomorrow if it continues this way.
So guys if you have any ideas about this, tips or own experience, please . I'll keep googling about it, though i think sitting in front of the monitor makes my eye even worse.

If you have pus coming out of your eye, you need to be talking to a doctor, not the population of TL. An eye infection is serious business! :O

GO. TO. A. DOCTOR. Nothing you can find on the internet will aid you in any way. I can't believe the number of people that come to the internet and are like, "Yeah, my bone is sticking out of my leg. What's wrong, guys?".

I'm not sure it's puss and there's no visible infection, so i was wondering if it has to do something with the cold i'm experiencing.
I'll obviously go to a doctor, tomorrow, it's not one of those posts. I simply want to know if anything like this happened to you and what could the cause be, and what should i do till tomorrow? Some friend of mine who's a doctor (not spec in eyes though) recommended me to wash it with soap, i hope it's a good idea.

DOCTOR. NOW. Seriously bro, if your eye is that fucked up, don't get on a forum and ask if we know what your problem is. Go to a doctor and get your eye fixed.

It is an eye infection due to your cold and you should see a doctor as soon as possibe. It happened to my brother and it was due to an cold as well, he got some antibiotics and 3 weeks later he was fine.

It sounds like pink eye. I suggest going to a doctor. When I had pink eye, my mom knew what it was, so we didn't have to go to the doctor and used a home remedy.
We took an apple and chopped it up into little pieces. Then we wrapped the pieces in paper towels. You end up with what looks a bit like a cooking pad (you know the things that you use to touch hot pans while cooking without burning yourself) with the apples inside of the paper towels. Then you hold the wrap on your eye like you would with ice, for as long as possible. My eye got better after a day.
I still suggest seeing a doctor though. How can I be sure it's pink eye? If it's something else then this might not work.
+ Show Spoiler +http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002005/ Treatment of conjunctivitis depends on the cause.
Allergic conjunctivitis may respond to allergy treatment. It may disappear on its own when the allergen that caused it is removed. Cool compresses may help soothe allergic conjunctivitis.
Antibiotic medication, usually eye drops, is effective for bacterial conjunctivitis. Viral conjunctivitis will disappear on its own. Many doctors give a mild antibiotic eyedrop for pink eye to prevent bacterial conjunctivitis.
You can soothe the discomfort of viral or bacterial conjunctivitis by applying warm compresses (clean cloths soaked in warm water) to your closed eyes.

Sure I've had this before. Here's what you do: start by blending yourself a healthshake. Put in three raw eggs, a handful of coffee beans, an entire bottle of fish oil, and 4oz of salt. Blend completely and drink the entire thing. For it to work the best you have to drink the entire thing in less than 8 seconds. Now get a large broom with a wooden handle and hit yourself with it repeatedly while jumping up and down. Do this for 30 minutes. Next dump an entire tray of ice down your pants and then get some 9v batteries and lick the top of them, make sure you get your tounge across both terminals. Finally, do what you should have done to begin with and go to the doctor and get your assed checked out because you're sick you putz.
Also puss is a sign of an active infection so go to the doctor and get that checked out. Then go to another doctor and figure out what's wrong with your brain for seeking medical advice from random strangers online.

To me it sounds like pink eye. It is highly contagious so I would avoid sharing things with other family members around your house. Usually it just needs a few days to heal itself but I would definitely agree with everyone here that you should go to the doctors to be sure.

Thanks guys, especially hp.shell.
I obviously want to go to a doctor but I did not want to go to ER since it's bloody full and this isn't a real emergency so i'd just sit for 8h before examination. What i did was call again at that ophthalmologist (that said he can't see me until tomorrow) in a clinic where i have subscription and ask to speak with the doctor (instead of the nurse who's doing schedules). She said the doctor's busy but she offered to help so after exhaustively explaining him the symptoms, he said it's no emergency (unless i start having viewing problems, powerful itching sensations or pain) and recommended me to buy gentamicin (an antibiotic) and some physiological serum, mix it up and put drops in the eye, and if it doesn't relieve until tomorrow i must see a doctor.
Hope it works :/.
