So being the mischievous teenager that I am, I decided to tag along with a group of buddies tonight in order to do some ding dong ditching at 1AM.
At first, we thought shit was going to just be funny, and giggles would be made. Turns out that was the opposite of what happened by the time this was all finished.
We started off by ding dong ditching "the neighborhood bitch". If you knew the person we were ding dong ditching, you would understand that it was not the brightest idea to ding dong ditch her. She's a bitch and she bitches about everything. Pretty funny.
So we all hid in a bush and once I picked the short stick, I ran up and pushed the doorbell. I ran back and we saw nothing happen to the house. After that, another kid went up to the door and he rang it. While he was running back, we heard nothing but "IF YOU FUCKING RING MY FUCKING DOORBELL ONE MORE TIME, I WILL CALL THE GOD DAMNED POLICE!!".
The funniest part about that was how my friend was just giggling while the guy behind him was completely raging.
So you can guess what we did next. The next kid went up and rang the door bell. The guy must have been waiting right behind the door, waiting for us to do it again. He grabbed the kid by the sweatshirt and he threw him down on the pavement after he shouted "I WILL KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS!!". The kid managed to run away before anything could happen.
So we had the bright idea to ring the bell again, this time with a 30 yard foot pole we made out of sticks. We hid in a bush and we poked the doorbell with the stick, then ran. I don't think he saw us, but he shouted again "I AM CALLING THE FUCKING POLICE, IM DONE FUCKING AROUND!!"
Then we rang it again, same story. One kid said he heard a gun cock but we didn't believe him.
So finally, we are all back at the garage just chillin while the cops are swarming down at his house. Luckily, the guy we were ding dong ditching didn't know who we were, as we were wearing our hoods.
So the cops were looking around the neighborhood while we hid in the garage with the lights out. Luckily the cops didn't find us and they gave up about a half hour later.
So once the cops left, it was 3:30AM. We had the bright idea of ringing the bell again..
Then we stopped ringing the bell as we were afraid of getting caught by the cops.
If you ever go ding dong ditching, make sure you stop once the guys uses caps IRL.

I've never understood this culture or mindset. I'm only 21 now, so it wasn't that long ago since I could have been a part of it.
Grats on not getting shot or arrested, I guess.

Why would you do that? It is
A) annoying to them
B) dangerous to you (both in terms of getting into trouble, AND possibility of physical harm)
C) proof that you guys really have nothing better to do with your lives right now

I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out why people just want to act like dicks to other people in real life.
I'll give people a pass for acting like a douche on the internet, because everyone has their moments where they're an internet tough guy, but why in the world would you ring someone's doorbell again and again at 3 in the morning? it's just a horrible thing to do.
I know if someone kept pounding on my door at 3, and i had work the next morning, i would be in a less than fantastic mood, and probably wouldn't hesitate to call the cops after the 2nd or 3rd time.
First time, i'll let it pass as an honest mistake.
