The way it seems is Do you like or hate the cold? cold = incheon What will you spend your nights doing? clubbing / gaming = incheon What are you looking for school wise? depends on what kind of school in which city What is your pay going to look like? depends on who pays you more What kind of baggage are you bringing? are you looking for a girlfriend, friends, etc. With those stated, you just have to pick what you want in a city, job, nightlife, people. etc.

If the alcoholic bit sums you up then please don't come here. Remember you're being paid to come and teach, not to get drunk every day. That aside, Busan seemed pretty nice from what I've seen of it, but it's a pretty long trip to get to most of the core gaming action here (live events, finals, fan meetings etc.) in Seoul. I lived in the far South (albeit in a very small/boring town.) and spent most of my time every weekend trekking up to Seoul to do progaming related things/reporting. As for hiking and sports - you can do those pretty much anywhere in SK. The older generation here *loves* to go on hikes, so there's plenty of access to well established routes (with lovely scenery in some cases.) If you check Meetup.com and Facebook you'll also be able to find plenty of ex-pat/Korean sports groups to join.

I am the original writer... Thanks for advice guys. Seems a pretty mixed bag of opinions! I did choose the Incheon school in the end as I managed to get hold of the current teacher who I am replacing. A nice long conversation with her made the school sound like a good place to work. I have heard some schools abuse new teachers so I am taking her word and hope it all goes well. Its a brand new school only 1 month old. Also Apparently its the sort of place where the boss knows all his staff which I will like. Although my concern is why is she leaving... and her excuse was not all that good. Anyways...... its going to be a gamble either way. If the alcoholic bit sums you up then please don't come here. Ye I understand! Perhaps that line is too strong. What I mean to say is I enjoy a drink in the evening and I hope to find a good community to spend time with. This includes sporting activities and hopefully some starcraft. I will take the job seriously and do the best I can. It is my first real job, so I aim to impress and succeed. I am a fan of hot weather. I am from England but spent the last two years gap yearing around insanely hot places. I become a more active person in the sun. So the weather in Korea is a disappointment ![]() I hoped Korea was hot but further research shows just how wrong I was! Ive heard Incheon is a fair bit colder but I googled the average weather between Incheon and Busan and didnt see a huge amount of difference. A beach city would be cool but I also noticed everything seemed very far from the centre. So now I wait to hear from the school directly to confirm. The recruiter seems to think all is good but I am not so sure ![]() Start date 2nd march. So its time to practice Starcraft and think about gathering teaching materials!
