I just finished ordering Season 1 and part 3 of DBZ Kai on DVD and the way they release the DVD's are stupid to me. Each part is 16 episodes and costs over $25 each. I loved the show so much I just had to buy them though.
But the reasoning behind buying Season 1 AND Part 3 is because, in October, they decided they wanted to combine each two Parts into a Season. Unfortunately they only have Season 1 so far (which is rediculous, the show ended about a month ago). I bought Part 3 because I want to get my friend into the show and I want him to maybe buy the next few parts. No better way to do that then to give him a quarter of the Freiza saga, haha.
I'm looking forward to watching Season 1 again though, Goku and King Kai are hilarious

I can watch the original version but why would I want to listen to Japanese anyway? I don't speak it...

because generally the english voice actors are awful and not at all close representations of the japanese ones. At least that's how english dubs have been for a long time, I haven't watched DBZ:K so I don't know how the quality is.

Check them out on Nicktoons.com, these new actors are good. I've watched a few episodes of the English dub of the Original and I agree they aren't very good but the Kai actors aren't bad.
The only thing they did wrong with Kai was to water down the violence imo.

DBZ traditionally had decent voice actors, and many people can't get over Goku's voice in the original JP version. But either way is a fine way.

No kai dub is terrible

Original DBZ was way better, kai just took out all the long parts that were meant to build up the intensity of a scene. Plus DBZ kai skipped the Buu saga, like wtf?

They sounded angrier in the Japanese language than in the English language. I liked both the dubbed and the subbed equally though. Never bothered with Kai because it adds nothing new from what I noticed.

While I haven't watched kai I'll never understand why people hate the english dub so much lol. When I listen to the japanese dub the voices just sound kinda lame to me compared to the english ones. I know supposedly they are badly translated but w/e I would watch english over japanese any day.

Dragon Ball Kai was canceled after the Cell Saga.

DBZ dub back in the old days was the shit.
DBZ Kai dub (though I've never heard it, I have a feeling it sucks because they didn't use the original voice actors)

I heard the acting on the English Dub through Hulu on my xbox and it was terrible. The Kai acting is much better imo.
I've tried watching it in Japanese with English Subs but how am I supposed to watch the battles and enjoy the cartoon when i'm reading? Think about it.
