Sabaton is a metal band from Sweeden formed in 1999, which is known best by the lyrical themes of most of their songs, as they deal with the history of wars (mostly WWII and WWI, but a lot of conflicts have at least one song dedicated to them) , usually in an apolitical tone without taking sides and mostly just describing the historical event at hand.
It's a really awesome band just because how different their lyrics make them, as it means all of their songs have a particular meaning and don't just deal with the usual themes found in most music.
While I can't say their music is great from technical point of view, as more than a few of their songs are a little "meh", I'm sure that if you have any interest in history and you like metal, this band will be a match made in heaven.
I just started listening to Sabaton a lot a few months ago, and they're really awesome. Wolfpack (about a U-boat attack on a specific convoy) and Union (Slopes of St. Benedict) (About the battle of Monte Cassino) are two of my favorites that haven't already been mentioned in this thread.
So sad that their only stop on the west coast US this year is going to be in LA. Too far away for me to justify going to see it Unless maybe MLG randomly ends up there that same weekend or something.
