PvT Masters practice anyone?

Drowsy United States4876 Posts January 10 2012 07:30 GMT #1 So long story short I made some huge breakthroughs in pvz and pvp and suddenly find myself with winrates of 65% and 69% in those matchups, my ladder rank and ELO have skyrocketed. It's very rare for me to be cleanly outplayed in pvz and pvp and I'm confident I could beat players much higher rated than me in a BoX in both matchups. Unfortunately, in pvt I've made no similar breakthroughs. The people I'm playing against at the higher ladder rank are consistently outplaying me by big margins by just doing standard solid stuff, 1/1/1 is about the only thing I can actually beat (unless it's the hellion drop variation, lol). I used to do a super oldschool 1 gate fe with my robo bay and 3rd and 4th gas adding in around 8:15, but this is getting dismantled by fast starport play since I have relatively few gateway units. I've tried to modernize with the Creator style double forge, but that's getting destroyed by fast 3rd because my gateway unit vs stim micro is too bad to take my own third as a response. I'm also just not well practiced in that style and struggle really badly fighting midgame engagements when terran has medivacs but I don't have colossi or storm, even with an upgrade advantage. It's funny, 2 seasons ago when I was last really active, I was sitting on pvt 60~%, pvp 50.5%, and pvz like 41%. Total reversal. My ID is Legion.400. This is North America server. Please be mature, last person I tried to practice with on TL raged at me after a 15 minute pvz where nobody cheesed, which is just silly. I mean you can sort of understand raging during ladder, but in a practice custom lol? Thanks all!

Kyuki Sweden1867 Posts January 10 2012 10:15 GMT #3 I'm in a similar situation (I dont play as much though) but what I'm trying to steer towards is a fast expand of some sort, be it HuK, MC, 16Nex expands - depending on maps and such - I want to get colossi vs stim pushes and get a fast upgrades and a pretty fast third. The most important thing I'm trying to nail down when it comes to timings is the transition into templar and specifically archons. I try not to build more than 3 colossi and if you manage to get the templar archive down at a good timing and push with those three colossi and gateway units you will be able to reinforce with very strong upgraded zealot/archon force, which is great since terran almost always have alot of supply in vikings at the point of a reinforcement engagement. Not sure if this helps at all, but I wish you gl in finding people to pin stuff down against. Would love to hear how you progress aswell!
