Hello again TL! This is going to be my 3rd blog so yay!!! =D =D
So, I'm just writing these thoughts to blow off some steam because I can't seem to focus on studying Acadec material right now and I need something to do as I wait for GSL. It looks like it's going to be a rant or just my thoughts rambling off.
So, to let the world know, I have accepted admission to Purdue University, my second choice college (Yeah, fuck you MIT), and doing so, I joined a 1600 and counting member group of people that have accepted admission to Purdue.
Being the Starcraft nerd that I am (even though I'm a very frustrated Zerg player right now), I ask if anyone plays Starcraft or at least follows it. I get a few responses but no one seems to follow it (as I expected) but when I mentioned Skyrim, it just exploded with comments so yay!
So I immediately hit it off with this one girl that I talk to on the post in the midst of everyone else saying how much they love Skyrim.
Okay fine, this might be a girl blog. I'm sorry =( I'll include other stuff I guess because I'm sure my mind will wonder off somewhere.
So she's basically the perfect girl next door to me. She listens to K-Pop, as well as Dubstep and Metal (like I do), is a gamer girl, suffers in IB like I do, worries about several issues, not just limited to political issues like NDAA and SOPA, but rather societal issues, such as media portrayal and media manipulation of the youth etc., and best of all, loves my favorite show: "How I Met Your Mother" as well as various video game or cartoon characters such as Lightning (so looking forward to seeing her cosplay her hehehe ^^) from Final Fantasy XIII, Ezio Auditore and my secret crush, Perry the Platypus.
Oh, and she runs faster than me. Yeah, we'll see about that ^^
Now, everything has to have issues with it right? She lives 1500 miles away from my crappy ass city of El Paso, TX (YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE, crap girls, crap service in everything, nothing goes on in the city, in the middle of nowhere, rich kids think they're all that, hispanics here are racist against ppl like me (i'm asian) and don't think at all (with a few exceptions of course), and ppl here are just plain out retarded). I have to wait 6-7 months just for the opportunity to meet her in person and then possibly compete with 800 other men (assuming a 50% split in gender) that could fall for her.
But wait, I'm just a weird asian kid, who only had one girlfriend before (that didn't last long, she was a total psycho), pretty much alienates himself from the rest of the population (they're all retarded i swear...), as evident by how much comments and likes I get compared to anyone else, does not follow expectations of an asian (I'm 27th in my class), and does not gain respect in anything (not even as a frisbee captain or helping our school's acadec, track, cross country, math olympiad and math uil win every single year)... so what am I to do?
I can't even get a facebook convo with her. (okay fine, maybe I did have a line with her, apologizing for spam by my friends when she gave some artist suggestions and she said it's okay... arghhhhh)
Now that I'm in my PJs, listening to artists she suggested (I asked for K-Pop artists, she is amazing for suggesting Beast) and then going "this is a sign!" when spotify tells me that she is a person i "may find interesting", going to college is possibly the best thing to happen to me. I'm away from everyone else from what I hear (no one is attending a college in the midwest from what I hear, it's either a rich coast school or UTEP), I don't have to deal with dumbasses in class anymore, I don't have to deal with people making fun of my eyes or laughing at me when they see me leave the building at 7pm at night with an acadec teammate, I'll meet people who share my interests in esports and youtube (She and I, along with several other classmates, founded a Youtube channel), I'll meet people that will care about me as a whole.

The girl next door is you know.... next door. Don't crush on randoms over the internet, its wasted energy. Congrats on Purdue, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun!

What are you to do? Just go on living your life until you meet her. Sounds like this girl is amazing and everything, but you haven't even met her yet, so don't go putting all your eggs in one basket. Even if and when you do meet her, once again, don't bank on everything working with her. More often than not, people you meet online are totally different in real life. I don't mean hobbies and interests, but personality and issues and whatnot.
Now that we got the negative stuff out of the way, if it makes you feel better, I haven't even had a girlfriend in my whole life. I've been on several dates with girls individually occasionally, but none of them worked out (longest stint being like 7-8 dates), whether it be from me/her feeling no connection or her having issues to sort out. But here's the thing about college. If one didn't work out, I'd meet another one soon enough. Soon enough being like one per semester, since I'm the type of guy who doesn't really like spreading his net throughout the ocean. I just recently came off a similar scenario, except the girl I met transferred out and is pretty much an entire state away.
Anyways, congrats on getting into Perdue, and barring my negative first paragraph, good luck with this girl. If not, remember, there's SO many more girls out there.

Good luck, and try to look forward rather than thinking about your shitty situation. Even if your thing with that girl doesn't pan out, you are bound to find someone who's a match for you ;P
Talking to girls online is weird though, so don't get your spirits too up. Maybe you won't actually be too into her when you see her. You'll be expecting the world, no doubt.

I started finishing up apps past the purdue deadline, so i couldn't :[. shame too, the captain of purdue's CSL is on my friend's team lol.

Haha your situation sounds a bit like mine (without the girl troubles, and I don't live in Texas) I'm really excited to just get away this city and go away to college next semester. I'm applying to Purdue as well, maybe I'll see you there 8 months from now. ^^ Good luck getting the girl, but don't stress too much over it! :O
