To me, most impressive Protoss would definitely Grubby. I could look into all of his build order and i could smell kimchi out of it... the trip to korea of his clearly paid for itself, he has improved so much and i think the only reason for this is bc he is a RTS genius @_@...

Most impressive terran must be goody, i was really surprised when he demonstrate his mech play vs Cloud. From the turret timing to the scv repair, everything looks really really solid and he execute the strat with a really low apm. SICK :D.

Zerg must be mTwDimaga. His game 1 vs JYP demonstrated his decision making is incredible in combine with top tier mechanic. But i knew that already, I was more impressed of his smile :D, its addicting even though the guy is buff and real scary xD.

I answered MC, Sound, and Nerchio. MC, because, well, he cakewalked through the tournament. Sound because he is a Code B Terran that is relatively unknown (I can say I have never heard of him before HSC), but people will definitely keep an eye on after his showing. Nerchio because he looked air tight until he was pulled apart by MC. I suppose honorable mentions, for me, would be Grubby, who has never looked this good in his SC2 career before, Dimaga, who played exceedingly well, and Goody, who seems to get better every time I see him play.

but MC and Nerchio performance is really expected. In the most recent interview with HuK when he came back to Canada for holidays, he said the best Korean Protoss is still MC. Not Hero, not JYP, not HuK but MC.... clearly HuK knew something that we dont :O..

MC, Goody and Diamaga (although i felt bad for not being able to choose violet too)
out of the 3 of those goody impressed me the most, hes a guy that gets a lot of attention for being awful and having awful mechanics but it deff shows thats hes improved on both of those. His mech play was amazing and absolutely a joy to watch, and you cant really say that about a lot of mech players. His overall decision making and tactics was what really caught my attention. but overall his games were really fun to watch, esp with the GREAT casting that the event had

Who impressed me in HSC4:

MKP - Awesome class in asking for a regame in a won match that dropped out, which would have won him the series.
Rotterdam - I love the precise and intelligent casting
Socke - right in there with Rotterdam
Sound - I'm a believer! Awesome breakout!

Grubby, tie between Sound/Goody and Dimaga.

MC's win might be thought of as impressive if you're considering his slump, but he was easily the favorite to win this, along with MarineKing.

Anyone who chooses Dimaga must have missed the series against JYP :\

I'd go with MC for stomping everyone BUT JYP...and go with Goody due to his insane style trumping everyone and knocking them off tilt

Grubby - Showing really solid stuff the more and more he gets his strategy worked out. Also did great casting, knows how to handle the mic.

Ret - Amazing casting, guy knows exactly wtf he is talking about, does so in an articulate manner, and keeps focus. A++ Job.

Socke - literally can never write this guy off as "another foreigner". He really impressed in quite a few matches.

Attero - Did a pretty good job casting as well.

Real - just knew that he was good, but that good, wel done!

GoOdy - he played bio in TvP and was able to take maps from koreans, nothing more to add

Dimaga - his ZvP impressed me the most, the games against JYP were so thought out through the whole game, really skilled guy!

and ofc Take for making this possible! cant wait what awaits us at HSCV

Most impressed by MC and Grubby's play as protoss. Violet showed impressive skill especially against MKP on terminus, that was so amazing to watch. Goody and Sound as terrans were phenomenal.

On the casting couch I enjoyed the Korean troll trio, the guys made one helluva show, huge props to MKP/MC and their back and forth banter. Grubby, Ret, HasuObs and Attero showed amazing casting skills, they were the most articulate and fun to watch.

MKP for his great sportsmanship.

Last but not least: Dennis for making the HomeStory Cup such a great ride.

Dimaga beind considered the most impressive Zerg after that performance is beyond me, soooo many basic mistakes. Violet was a whole class higher, and Nerchio wasn't any worse either.

Sound and MC for other races.

Grubby played very good, but MC takes the Protoss crown for me from HSC4.
Goody was excellent. Really liked the way he played.
And finally - Dimaga. That guy just keeps his performance level no matter the situation.

I really like the whole event. There were some great games, some great casting and some great jokes :D
HSC is getting better and better. Can't wait for HSC5 !

I was highly impressed by Adelscott. Yes, he wasn't captain "Deep Run" but what can I say, I am a fan :D. And the man qualified, too.

First of cause GoOdy, because he is the hero of all casual gamers. He is unique, popular and winning games. A very rare combination in the SC2-scene. For zerg I would vote for Nerchio, he was the only player beating a good protoss player. MC is for sure a real pro-toss.

Edit: Delphi should be noted, played better then everyone would had expected.

Impressed as in surprised, because I didn't expect them to play on a certain level:
Terran - Naama. Played some really sweet games, his 1 proxy rax pressure against Dimaga was just fantastic.
Protoss - JYP. Never heard of him before being aquired by EG, didn't expect such a performance. Korean Toss being boss.
Zerg - Violet. I was quite disappointed with Zerg since I felt Stephano was playing way worse than I expected, Ret disappointed as well. Violet however impressed me with his aggressive play, I can't believe how much he was able to do off 2 base, especially since I personally feel like I give up a game if I haven't taken my third by at least 5 minutes if a toss FFEs.

Protoss: MC
Terran: Goody ftw!!
Zerg: Violet

Dimaga played so timidly in my opinion. It really felt like he was uncomfortable attacking in every circumstance. It was unimpressive. But Violet playing solidly and taking out MarineKing's shenanigans was definitely nice to see. And I don't think anyone expected Goody to do that well. JYP also was pretty impressive, cutting it dangerously close with the Obamatoss.

MC, Nerchio, and Sound for me. MC just rofl-cruised through everyone. Nerchio looked really solid, finally falling to eventual champ MC, but he could have gotten to the finals in a different bracket, imo. Sound just came out of nowhere and looked great.

Also, props to Destiny and InControl for at least being entertaining casters, even if they really sucked in game.

Grubby had a chance to take the entire tournament, and in my opinion played better than any foreigner (atleast with Dimaga), i've known how skilled he was for a while, but still very impressive for me.

Goody didn't impress, he has poor mechanics. I fail to see how people can believe that goody was more impressive than Sound in HSC 4, the way Sound played the maps was awesome, he's a very smart player.

I'd also say viOlet impressed more than any Zerg, mainly because few people had high hopes for him to do well, and most didn't think he would get past group stages.

Also, how is MC impressive? He was one of the favorites for the tournament..

I knew nothing about Grubby aside from him being a legend (?) War3 player. For some reason, I always had the narrow-minded impression that he was a bit of a punkish guy, but after actually seeing and hearing him on stream, he seems like a genuinely cool guy. Also, his casting was probably my favorite alongside Ret's. I liked that he acknowledged good play and actually sounded genuine about it.

For me it were Grubby, Naama/Sound and Dimaga.
On the other hand the casting trio that impressed me the most was... Ret, Thorzain and Destiny. Really great casting, not counting "shy start" of that cast

Grubby? Seriously? How is he as impressive as MC (first place, 4-0 in finals)? How is he nine times more impressive than JYP (third place)? Grubby moved up exactly one round, after getting through his placement round that had no Koreans in it. He played very well in his games, but I think this is more a fanboy-based poll than a results-based poll. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, but it just makes me a bit confused to think that the guy who got around 10th in the tournament was the most impressive Protoss, when at least three other Protosses outperformed him (and it's not like Grubby only got knocked out early because he played a Bo1 against the eventual winner of the tournament). The group he got knocked out in was the easiest group as well >.>

MC was the most impressive Toss with Grubby in a close second. MC looked as dominating as he did a year ago. Grubby looks like he is finally coming to form.

Goody was the most impressive Terran. There is always that joke about him playing mech all the time and I feel that he did a nice job in showing that he has more tricks up his sleeve.

Nerchio. I am surprised that he is as far down on the list as he is. He took out more Koreans than any other foreigner in the tournament. And he did so in a pretty dominant fashion.

I was impressed that Goody could win games with Bio (vs Grubby, Real and JYP). It still looked weird and bad sometimes, but he never got 2-0ed by a protoss and I expected him to lose every map against the protoss players there. I was pretty sad that he got a group with two protoss in the second round.
I knew that his TvT and TvZ are good enough against every (foreign) Terran and Zerg expect Nerchio, because his openings are really strong and his mech is really solid. I still hope he finds a way to mech against protoss, because Bio doesn't fit him.

He's the favorite because his skill is mind-blowing, and that impresses. The series vs JYP showed amazing micro, and his other sets were brutal stomps.
