Ahoy!
I haven't updated my blog every other week, though I said I would. In all honesty I wasn't planning on posting anything until 2012, but at the time I was just too excited. I was also trying to procrastinate studying for my exams. But now it's time to get down to business.
This is basically just a post to say that I am still alive and I will be posting more regularly in the new year. For some of us it is already 2012, but for me I'm still stuck in 2011 with roughly 8 hours to go. On January 1st, 2012 I will be posting a new entry on Gaming as a Social Experience. If you haven't read my introductory post, you can find it HERE!
I'm sure that this has been done dozens of times today, but I think it would be awesome if you posted your New Years plans (whether they have already happened or are about to) and a New Years resolution or two. Whether you plan on bringing in the new year like SlayerS_Cella and telling your deep dark secrets to that cute girl (and everyone else who can hear), or if you're planning on gaming all night long; I would love to hear about it.
As for me... due to a certain hospitalization approximately one year ago, I will be staying in with some family and friends. I will also be acting as the designated driver for my ridiculously drunk friends later on. Some people would say that this is super lame and I should go out and party, but I disagree. I am extremely thankful that I get to bring in the New Year without any pressure to make it awesome (because New Years is never as fun as it's supposed to be). I am so happy that I will get to relax for a change and have a relatively quiet countdown.
As for my new years resolutions, I am going to do my best to update this blog with regularity. I'm hoping to get a couple scholarships back for university... because hey, free money! There are a few others, but the former is one of the ones I intend to follow through with.
I'd also like to remind everyone that drinking and driving is something to be taken very seriously and if you do not have a DD, find one. If you can't find a DD, because no one wants to be the only sober person on New Years surrounded by drunk idiots, call AAA. If you're in the USA call 1-800-AAA-HELP (4357) and AAA will take you and your car home FREE, whether you are a member or not. The service runs from 6pm-6am, so there is really no excuse for you to get in a car when you're under the influence.
Because CAA doesn't offer the same deal, if you're in Canada strap on your snow shoes and walk back home to your igloo. In this economy you really can't afford to lose your sled dogs in a violent snowbank collision. Don't worry, you don't have to be able to see through the blizzard because your pet beaver has an excellent sense of direction.
Here's hoping that your New Years is (or was) filled with awesome. Cheers, Zenobia
PS Thank you for reading despite the sentence fragments and comma splices. I know my grammar isn't perfect, I'm working on it (another resolution of mine).
PPS If you got the reference in the title, props to you, you baller.

Didn't know that about AAA.

Why should we forgive bad grammar? Because you wrote it really quickly? How is that an excuse?
If you are writing something for others to read, you should take a couple of minutes to edit it if it clearly has things wrong with it that make it difficult to read (as the OP did).
Happy New Year.

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a joke, sarcasm doesn't seem to translate well in type, seems a little too aggressive to be serious...
Have fun being a designated driver! Happy New Year!

When you see micronesia or other baneling/mod/etc. respond to your OP be prepared for they will bring out the whip of warning. When they don't, be very, very, very, afraid. When they do, fear for your virtual soul. This is serious. This is the truth. This is micronesia.

I'm working on my grammar, it's probably the weakest aspect of my writing. I appreciate your critique and that you took the time to read the entire post. I have edited since, at the time I wanted to get the post up before I had to go out. But I'm not going to make excuses. Thanks for the comment, Happy New Year to you too <3
@Stijx - Thanks so much! (I don't think he was being sarcastic, but I don't mind)
@xFlyingRussia - I didn't think it was too harsh, so don't worry about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion =D
@Chef - You sled dogs will be fine so long as you don't get behind the reigns under the influence.
@3FFA - I understand what you're trying to say... kind of. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
