Hello TL!
Today I felt encouraged to write a Blog for the first time. I arrived this morning at Busan, somehoew I made it past the crazy long travel, the passport controls and all that good jazz. Its my very first time in Asia (something Ive been looking forward for many years, lets say around 13). I havent seen much of it, basically nothing, but theres something about not understanding anything around you thats both intriguing and nostalgic at the same time. I ended up spending most of my day in the hotel, and when I finally decided to get lost in Busan, and hopefully experiment some of the famous Korean food...well, I ended up getting really lost (and not in the cutesy metaphorical way). Tired still, and a bit helpless (people are really nice, but communication is HARD) I ended up giving up and eating pizza.... yes, 14+ hours flight to eat pizza, I know... Anyways, after a second set of tiny naps, I feel optimistic once again and ready to discover Busan once again tomorrow morning, with hopefully better results. Any fellow TL members who would like to offer some guidance, recommendations (fool proof please ^^) feel free to PM me. :D

You went to Busan/(travelling) without planning your trip?

I heard Mani is an expert when it comes to Busan. Or atleast he knows where the port lies.
Question: Why Busan and not Seoul?

Next Korean event of my knowledge (and the only one that I know, thx to TL :p)
What/When? In 2 days you can watch ACE vs Team 8 live for free. In 3 days you can watch STX vs Woongjin live for free, with a chance of getting free drinks and food.
Where? I dont even know if it is in Pusan, but you are so close. NeverGG would be the girl to guide you through, try to PM her, or lilsusie or Manifesto, or rekrul.
Can you imagine how close you are from watching JAEDONG PLAYING LIVE? And if you are lucky enough you could even take a glance at tossgirl beauty in real life.

Well, I would say always get a map, and always get an address for your hotel... most places have these things, and most usually even have a small "area" map to kind of just show you your immediate location. If you really are just wandering, carry a decent sum of cash an familiarize yourself with the taxis there. There are probably more efficient methods, but a taxi and an address is probably the safest thing to do.

No. ACE vs. T8 and STX vs. Woongjin will be at Yongsan (Seoul) as always. But on Thursday and Friday, CJ will play Samsung, while SKT will play KT at WCG (Busan). Much better matches imo.
I'll be down in Busan on Friday to catch SKT vs. KT

The only thing I plan when I travel is plane, first hotel, and train pass if necessary. After waking up, I go out to find breakfast and while eating, improvising on what to do/visit. By planning your trip, the only thing you will see or experiment, is the stuff you have already seen on internet, or everyone have already done.

getting lost isn`t really a big problem. taxis are cheap and everywhere.

I and many others prefer not to plan anything but hotel, flights and some common things such as taxi, train etc. But nothing else. Thats how you should be travelling in my opinion.
Good luck and have fun in Busan, OP!

Hey OP, I was in Busan about 5 months ago and I also went solo with no direction. I ended up walking nearly across the entire city with my camera looking for a specific place haha.
One thing you have to do while you're there is check out 자갈치 (jagalchi) fish market if you like sashimi. There's a lower floor of the market where all of the fishermen sell their fresh catch but if you go upstairs there's some "restaurants" where people take the fish from downstairs, kill it, and serve it to you uber fresh. Just make sure you try to barter a bit. The lady offered me sashimi for 20000W but I managed to get it down to 10000W. PM me if you don't know any Korean and don't know the words for expensive, discount etc.
Good luck and have fun.
