One is at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars - the internship position is with their Program on America and the Global Economy. Basically they do research on how the US can become more competitive in a continually globalizing world economy in the long run. I will be commuting to the Wilson Center to work two full days each week, 16 hours a week.
The other offer is with the Hudson Institute for their Center for Political-Military Analysis. Because of my background and language, I will be helping them research Chinese foreign and defense policy. I will be working part time, but I will not have to commute, since I will be doing the research on my own time and communicating with them via email etc.
Has anyone here worked for any of these two organizations? Any experiences you'd like to share?
I really cannot decide. I'm interested in both topics, but the Hudson Institute one is more flexible. On the other hand, the Wilson Center one also offers some opportunities to attend seminars and events that are cool and also give me a chance to network more.
I was actually thinking about accepting the Wilson Center internship, but also asking the Hudson Institute guy if I could help them out during this Winter break or when I have any free time during the Spring semester, and possibly over the summer. It doesn't feel too good to pass up a good opportunity for some relevant work experience, but I definitely cannot do both during the Spring, because the workload would just be too much.
I don't know what to do!!
