Watching from my job that I got purely through my SAT scores which I still have on my resume at 23

Huh. There are jobs you can get purely through SAT scores? That seems really weird to me.

I was exaggerating but they let me skip most of the application+interview process despite my shitty gpa and said my SAT scores were amazing enough to cover for it lol

Wikipedia. (read it all)

You know, this part made me laugh:

Regardless of how pervasive the phenomenon is, it is clear from Dunning's and others' work that many Americans, at least sometimes and under some conditions, have a tendency to inflate their worth. It is interesting, therefore, to see the phenomenon's mirror opposite in another culture. In research comparing North American and East Asian self-assessments, Heine of the University of British Columbia finds that East Asians tend to underestimate their abilities, with an aim toward improving the self and getting along with others.

It's disgustingly true.

This thread is gold.

And yes, people in general are stupid. If we weren't we would be living in a quasi-paradise. That's just life.

You also aren't as smart as you think you are. Putting effort into things is one of the best skills/assets to develop, and getting sub par grades into things you put no effort into is nothing to be proud about. I would give a lot to develop my motivation; it allows you to succeed in life. As with the majority of people, I always end up being lazy about things after a while.

I used to work at a coffee shop when I was a teenager. Me and a co-worker were talking about something, I forgot what it was. But along the lines, I yelled out triumphantly to my co-worker that "I knew everything, and I'm a genius!" The lady at the counter caught me saying it and asked, "Okay, you know everything. Then tell me how rubber bands are made."

No clue. I made up something on the fly, knowing it was bull crap. She paid for her coffee and left with a smirk.

This year I decided not to take any hard science classes, because I hate science. So my guidance councilor told me to take Earth Space Science, because he said that shit was "easy as your mother". Yes, my guidance councilor is a baller. So I took the class. What I didn't know is that when he said easy, he actually meant AP coloring and arts and crafts.

Smart teachers teach hard classes. Dumb teachers teach easy classes. You want smart teachers? Take hard classes. Trust me, I've dealt with a lot of dumb teachers in my life, but none of them were teaching AP classes.

I don't get how you can say you hate science, then complain because you aren't doing any experiments in bullshit class. You want to do experiments? Then man up and take AP Chemistry. Otherwise, quit complaining.

And who gives a fuck about the janitors? They have zero effect on your life.

All of the shit you are complaining about is within your control. You need to man up and take harder classes and just ignore the janitors.

If the stuff is too easy, see if there's a dual enrollment system with a college. My brother got 2240 on his Sat and is smarter that lot of the teacher at my school but he still spends his time studying and improving himself rather than shitting on others.

FUCK! I HATE being the arrogant know-it-all that I am! I wish I was East Asian so I could be smart and humble.
I guess we know why Koreans rock at SC2 now, though.

I can actually relate to this fairly well lol

I was in high bronze league last time I laddered, which was probably a month ago. I found it boring because everyone not in like top 10 bronze was so unbelievably bad I could do what ever the hell I wanted to and still win, like only make marines until I'm maxed out and a-move them to their death or go like 15 or even 16 gate as toss (mainly because I forgot to make it lol) and get away with it. There is such a huge difference between someone in top 8-25 bronze and people not in top bronze that it is stupid. And that's why I barley play sc2 anymore, it's too easy.

I also can relate to some of my teachers legitimately being less intelligent than me. My chemistry teacher literally doesn't know what converting something to a fraction means. She is kind of like the teacher described in the OP, she just hands out worksheets with directions on them that tell you how to do stuff, reads off a powerpoint, or shows us a movie. It's a good thing that I'm only in level 3, the normal level in my school, and everything is easy enough that I don't have to ask any questions.
