EPTWhat struck me while reading this person bash on not only inControl but pretty much any self-thinking, life loving man or woman is what kind of balls it requires to go up on the internet and just say what you think. inControl is such a high profile guy with alot of oppinions and drama circling around him that whatever he does is sure to involve drama,debate, shit talking and so on. I can't in a million life times see myself stepping into the line of fire like that. Because, essentially, that is what every eCelebrity does whenever s/he voices anything. There are so many haters out there just waiting to pounce on anything resembling a different oppinion. And this is not the schoolyard where you get punched in the face for stepping out of line. This is a place where you can say the most reprehensible things and just walk away clean, never having to back up your words but potenitally really hurting someones feeling's out there.
I'm a guy who can barely play LoL or SC2 on any competative level because how they get to me. Whenever the shit talk begins, I just don't know where to process this information. I can have huge slumps regarding one single game where I played bad and some really meanspirited player calls me out on it and continously harasses me throughout the game for it (We've all been there sometime, right?). Now, if I imagine that and then add the spotlight and thousands of people voicing oppinions in unison on every single mistake I made. Well shit, I wouldn't be able to do anything, ever.
In the end I know that the protection of anonymity goes both ways. People will always seek to bolster their own chosen mode of argumentation(i.e a discussion needs an instigator, the pot needs to be stirred...) and I'm sure there is some positive aspect I'm missing. But this blog is simply about one thing:
Every single one of you high profile anything that have the guts to say what you think and try your best to achieve it infront of others are fucking rolemodels in my book. This goes to every aspiring pro player as well, I think you guys are phenomenal for the leap you take when you dare dream big. Nevermind the Tiger Wood's, Messi's or whatever of the world. Everyone who has the balls to subject themselves to the staggering amount of critique eCelebrities endure everyday and still advocate and do what they love in the spotlight deserve a fucking medal.
