There is a cat that lives next door to me. He's your average outside cat, I suppose; chases butterflies, basks in the sun, fights with other cats, etc. Seems pretty normal to me.
About two weeks ago he started showing up on my porch at night so I started feeding him some canned cat food. I have two cats myself but they won't eat can food so I have like 40 cans left over from a box I bought a while ago. This cat seems to enjoy the food quite a bit so I figured why not give it to him.
After a few nights I started to notice that every morning I would go outside and the food bowl would be laying at the bottom of the porch steps somewhere. I figured a raccoon or something came to lick it clean after the cat was finished and ended up knocking it off the porch.
Well, over the last few days I noticed something strange; the bowl seemed to be moving closer and closer to the original position it was in. I couldn't quite figure out what was going on until tonight... where all of the missing pieces fell into place.
I got home and noticed the cat run over from next door. I went inside to grab some food and came back out, searching for the bowl. After a few seconds I found it sitting in the corner of the porch. It had rained today so the entire porch was wet except for one little dry spot where the bowl was sitting. I filled it up with food, sat it back down about four feet away, and went inside.
I happened to glance out the window a few minutes later just to see if the cat was there, and low and behold he was moving the cat bowl! And not just any movement...
The witch cat managed to put the bowl back almost exactly where the dry spot on the porch was. He was only off by a few millimeters. After placing the bowl back, he ran off into the night.
I love cats, but I'd be suspicious of this one. Cats are self-serving to the maximum and this one sounds to manner to be true. How many times have you had a cat rub your leg in a friendly manner, just to scurry away to the food bowl as soon as you give it your affection in return. I'm sure this "manner" action somehow fits into his grand selfish scheme somehow!
