Hope means hopp in Swedish.
Hopp carries a second meaning - to jump.
I've decided to jump.
And I hope you'll do the same.

I jump for hope 2 I hope that (he) jumps Well, the verb conjugations used tend to differ from the the noun form, so in most cases people can easily distinguish which is which. In the cases where they wouldn't differ, the convention is to give the noun a definite form (the hope). I jump for (the) hope = Jag hoppar för hopp(et). (Definite form not necessary, but the most common way of expressing it) I hope that (he) jumps = Jag hoppas att han hoppar. An interesting case would be: A jump/leap for hope = Ett hopp för hopp. And that's where the convention of using definite form comes in: Ett hopp for hoppet = A leap for the hope (sounds wrong in English, but that's how it'd be dealt with in Swedish). In general other wordings/sayings are used. A Swede would not use these expressions since it'd be construed as an all too obvious and lame play on words.

As evidenced by the OP's unwitting plea for us all to follow in commiting suicide. Luckily he explained what he meant in the preceding paragraph, or we'd might have had people from TL calling the cops and starting a r1ch led manhunt.

To me writing these words open for anyone here to read, not just writing for my own eyes, was a symbolical restart. At the moment I wasn't quite sure exactly why, it was just a feeling, but it's turned out to be about daring to open up again after me and my Girlfriend broke up. Ask them out on a "Fika" afterwards and you've got the perfect conversation starter when talking to a Swede. -It's our word for "enjoying a cup of coffee" -in 99% of the cases also having a sweet cookie/ sandwich/bakery product along with it -it involves the own choice of having a cup of tea instead. In sweden it's usually done at 9:00 and 13:00 at working places from my experience. Or enjoyed with a friend or many at a café later on. Happy birthday and Good luck, I hope you'll get to enjoy a real swedish fika and perhaps even a physical cultural exchange! ............................................................
