I know that a lot of people have "ladder anxiety" and have trouble pressing the find match button, but my problem is a little different than that. Right now I am top 4 diamond and I want to get into masters really bad. the problem is I don't want to hit a losing streak and get sent back a bunch of ranks, so I only play like 2-3 games in a row and then quit because I'm afraid of losing too much. Usually I have no problem playing but when I feel like I'm improving I don't want to hit a wall and get set back a whole bunch. Does anyone else have this problem and is there any way to help it?

Fundamentally if you belong in Masters you'll get there easier by mass gaming than trying to save a loss here or there. Bonus pool really rewards always playing more until you have no pool left. You are going to end up at a 50-50 ratio. Just accept that, and masssss game like a boss.

I find that listening to music helps, once you get past a few games and get in a flow, it's easy.

This is the same ladder fear as many if not most people have. The best advice you can get is to just hit the button.

I think I had that problem for a bit. One day I just said screw it, I spent money on this game and I'm not going to play it? Then I just clicked find match and bam. Problem solved.

Even if you lose 10 games in a row, you should be able to get back to your position easily. Don't worry about it and just click the button and play.

I'm so girly V_V
Not as girly as Sirjolt though he's pride and prejudice going through menopause. But I'm under 1000 wins so I instantly feel emasculated.

I was stuck in a similar situation. I was in high diamond playing low masters people most of the time. I was getting bored of doing the same builds over and over again, but I was too afraid to try some new stuff because I was afraid it would destroy my hopes of getting into masters.

One day I just decided "fuck it", and dropped like 20 ranks doing weird stuff. Like floating mains to golds, thor scv all-ins, making PFs at naturals, etc. And oddly enough, after losing about 10 games my win rate stabilized at 50% in mid-diamond WHILE I was doing all that fun dumb stuff. Because even though I was playing terrible with my new builds, I was having much more fun. I went from playing like 5-10 games per ladder session to 15-20 just because I wasn't stressing about my rank anymore. And whenever I need a morale boost, its super easy to bust out one of my old builds that I know work against masters and totally crush the diamond scrub.

This game should be fun. If you stop having fun in order to get to masters, then when will you have fun? I mean, even if you were suddenly promoted to Masters right now, you'd probably be so afraid of dropping back to diamond that you'd be stuck in the same trap.

The best advice i can give for not caring so much about losses is to play a minimum of 6-10 games in a single sitting. This way, you can be sure, you will lose at least a couple games every session. You know its going to happen, so you can accept it. Losses become statistics, not personal.

Click dat dayum find match button now. Look away, close your eyes, get your dog to click the mouse for you, whatever. Don't care. Just play. If you're good enough to make it into masters, you'll make it into masters through playing more games. Not playing won't get you promoted. If you're not good enough to get into masters, then you have to play more to get better. If you do slowly after playing really carefully get into masters, but really aren't that level. You're gonna come right back out.

If you're still reading this... go press that damn button

If you lose twice in a row on ladder, the fear will be pretty much gone and you wouldnt be afraid to go for next game.
You guys have it easy at least, just pressing 'a button' to ladder.
You mean ESPORTS isnt a synonym for SC2? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -Proud owner of a Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry Blue Switches- BW or SC2? Why not both?

I like to warm up for 1v1 with a few team games first (4v4 Random lols). Just to get the mechanics flowing and in the right frame of mind. Otherwise I invariably lose the first couple of games and get demotivated.

How are they jealous if he struggles to get promoted?
I neither agree nor disagree, just asking. However, practice is always useful despite game count.

whether you lose 20 games in a row or lose 20 games in a row in 5 ladder sessions, you still would have lost 20 games. its better to play more games dude. win or lose you are still getting the practice.

i play as much as i can until i can see in losing because in getting tired and not playing at my best and then stop. no point in losing because of a lapse in concentration but i dont see the problem with losing to someone if i know i did well. it just means your mmr is increasing and you are playing against better players
6 poll is a good skill toi have

actually for some people, after playing some games in a row, they can't play as well as before.
It would be nice to take a break ever 5 games or so rather than straight up 10 games on one sitting (assuming all long macro games)
