This is my journey.Okay so I feel like I want to start a blog about my Starcraft Laddering experience. I'll Start by telling you all a little about me, and my life playing starcraft.
My name is Cody Lawson, I am 19 years old and currently living in Toronto, Canada with my girl friend of 3 years this January. I started to play sc when I was a child, not sure the exact age however. It was mostly the campaign. ( I used the cheat codes lol ). As time went on, i grew to play other games like any child would. exploring the world of gaming as it was all new to me.
My brother was and still is a huge Brood War fan and he dragged me into playing it. I didnt like it a whole lot at the beginning. I felt it was very repetitive and unfair. Imba imba? I started to get better and things started to become a lot more fun. My brother and I used to stay up late and watch The ever so famous SlayerSboxer and Yellow ( my favorite zerg at the time ) play.
During the Brood War days I played Toss, I loved the feeling of being powerful and easily kill units. Flanking and deminating people in every game. I still remember trying to make a clan named AOK). Oh the good times as a child.
Eventually I gave up playing it because i was not progressing. I started to play Diablo 2 and WoW, and what ever game I liked at the time.
Now lets get to the present!
Last November I was visiting my family in Florida. I was bored and decided to play sc2 because I bought it in July, and never really played it. Only campaign ( sound like when i played sc1? ) I lost all my placement matches ( obviously) and was placed in Bronze. I struggled for a while to get out of silver, and once Christmas rolled around I started to play Cata. Few months later I found out season reset and i played a few teams games and decided to just go for the 1v1 and see what I get. I got Bronze! WTF, so almost immediately I gave up. I was stubborn.
Season 3 came around, and during this time I didn't have internet because I moved to my current home. During this time I played vs AI. Medium, getting better, Hard, im improving!, Very hard, i'm Struggling. over time I was able to overcome them and I got internet! WOOT!! ^^
Once again I started team games to get back into it. after a few games it was time to face the truth, time to get into bronze and improve. I LOST MY MATCH D: TO MASS MARINES! and I had banelings. Sigh.. oh wait.. SILVER! HAZAAH!
Season 3 came and gone, and I was rank 8-20 and I was palying vs gold but losing to top 8 bronzers. My MMR was whack.
Season 4 comes and Im like hell lets just do 1v1! so i did, and i got silver.. Oh well. So here i Am still in Silver! working on my way to gold. Iv been struggling this season, seems to be harder then last. Just tonight I got into top 8 ( Rank 6 ) and i'm Sooo Excited. I played my last match at rank 10. ZvZ, I felt the pressure! Droning and attacking, expanding and I felt my adrenillen pumping. I over run my opponent and I won! Awe Yeah!!
To end this blog, I want to state that this zerg player was a Rank 8 Gold! I jumped a whole league ahead and beat him. I'm so excited about this. I want to get promoted so badly.
