PS- I thought this thread was going to be about a defect pack of ramen with black noodles or something. Since one time I opened a pack and I saw a few threads of noodles that were dark brown and black (because they had been burned I assume.) pps- i think your keyboard is gay. no offense. | ||

Now I saw this blog and my lust is once again awaken. Some questions: 1) Can I use the water I boil the pork(with seasoning n stuff) with as my soup? Or do I need to prepare the soup separately? FYI I like the pork/chicken taste in my soup. 2) What veggie ingredients can I add? Can I add mushrooms of any form? I really like them, <3. 3) Can I use another type of pasta instead of these insta-ramen packages? Their quality seems kinda dubious? 4) How can I season the egg? That's all for now, will tell ya how my first experience went. | ||

You can add carrots, green onions, onions - basically whatever you want to add. Mushrooms I'm not so sure about, because I don't know how safe it is to eat them raw or undercooked. Basically, can you boil mushrooms? I think they would be more flavorful if you sautee'd them, but I think you can also just add dehydrated mushrooms to the ramen. Ooooh, and try seaweed! Seaweed and bamboo shoots. MMMmmmmmm.... The insta-ramen packages are delicious! But yes, you can use your own noodles. I sometimes substitute rice noodles, glass noodles, or buckwheat noodles for the instant ramen noodles. You can just fry the egg beforehand. Or scramble it, throw some chives in it, and then fry it. Otherwise, I kind of think of the egg being used to flavor the ramen soup, because I cook it so it separates and permeates the soup. I can't think of anyway to flavor soft-boiled egg... Have you tried adding cheese? It's surprisingly good when you top the finished ramen with it. I also like ham with ramen too. ....Now I want ramen. I swear it's a disease. | ||
