I know, so incredibly original. O.o There are a lot of kids in my neighborhood, so we tend to go all out when it comes to Halloween festivities.
I'm not the kind of person who parties on Halloween. Never have been, it's just not my thing. I find carving pumpkins and seeing all the kids a lot more fun.
As for costumes, I decided to do something really simple. It was between a cat, unicorn, or dinosaur.
I chose cat, for the sake of time.
I'm from Florida. This is my first Halloween living in Ohio - and oh my god. It was FREEZING. What the hell are you supposed to do for costumes when it's 30 degrees out?! My choices were pretty limited. So much for creativity. Oh well!
Here are a couple of our pumpkins:
Foofa, from Yo Gabba Gabba.
Elmo!
And more traditional pumpkins:
And now I'm writing a paper while enjoying some "fun size" treats! I forgot just how delicious peanut m&ms are... O.O
We had a cat lady on our street. My kids went up to get candy and suddenly she started cackling as loudly as possible. I'm still not quite sure why a cat would cackle but she had it down to a science. Scared the shit out of my three year old.

Going as a cat or some other kind of animal seems to be the most popular kind of costume where I'm at. Halloween basically means that half the girls turn into scantily clad furries for a weekend.

Various types of chocolate, usually the fun size candy bar mixes. Lollipops for the younger ones that can't have chewy/chocolate things.

We had those too! I'm eating a twix at the moment.
I promised myself I wouldn't horde the candy in my room. I'm sitting on my bed, surrounded by nearly a dozen small brightly colored wrappers. And my computer is starting to melt the kitkat I'm about to eat.
