I was once an avid kpop MV viewer. I used to watch them enough that despite not knowing any korean I still knew the korean lyrics to a lot of my collection. Anyway, recently I had a friend get back from doing some ESL teaching in korea and I managed to add another 100 or so videos to my collection from him. I got them running on my second screen while I did some work and I had this strange feeling. I'm still not entirely sure about what it was but the closest word that I can link to the feeling is "depressed". I get that feeling anytime I watch kpop nowadays and it's started getting worse. Even when I think of kpop I start getting the feeling.
I live in an area about half an hour north of the northern Sydney suburbs where the population is made up of 98% white Australians, 1.9% Indians (there's this one suburb where everyone who lives there are Indian), and the remaining 0.1% of the people would probably come under the title of "other" simply because there is not enough of any one culture to get their own little part of my internal pie chart. So there are about 2 asian girls in the same age group as me and I have dated both of them. Because of the fact that there are so few asian girls in my area I don't get that feeling too much when I walk through the local shopping centre. That's why when I actually go into Sydney I have to constantly remind myself that driving into oncoming traffic is counter-productive.
I went down to Sydney last night for a barcraft event for the GSTL finals (was pretty amazing) and just walking through the streets of the city gets that feeling going inside of me. So many good looking asian women compared to the where I live. Entire gaggles of them even. It gets to the point where I'm not even depressed anymore, I'm just plain mad. Driving home I'd hope that there were no asian women walking on the side of the road because it would just make me feel so sad.
The reason why I'm telling you all this is because I'm wondering if any of you have an answer for this feeling. How do I stop it? I want to be able to watch kpop, I used to enjoy it so much but now I just can't.

After reading through this I realise how crazy I sound. I don't actually only like asian chicks, it's just that the girls in the kpop groups are so amazing that simply the fact that I can't be with them makes me feel like shit (yes, even Hyorc and the manly rapper girl in each group). Hell even male kpop challenges my sexuality which is the main reason I don't watch those MVs anymore.
Just to clarify; I have been in relationships with white girls too, that's just not what this is about so I didn't mention it

i still can't find the connections between the "cute asian girls you saw on the streets" and "you can't watch kpop anymore". So basically you watch kpop not because of the musics, just because you think the korean girls are pretty???

Perhaps assessing women for traits other than physical beauty would help. Not that looking pretty isn't important but females have a lot more to offer than that.

As I mentioned in the OP I realised how crazy I sounded after writing that. I only have yellow fever in the sense that I like beautiful asian girls as much as I like any other beautiful girl. I don't exclusively like asians.
Also, I'm not shallow enough to only go for looks in a girl but I'm not stupid enough to think that looks don't count for anything in a relationship.

I love the music for a lot of the groups as well. I mentioned the girls on the streets (now they just sound like prostitutes) to show that it's getting worse, it is no longer confined just to the kpop.

i'm asian and i can't really stand some asian chicks. my neighbourhood is about 45% asian (not even joking) and it's like eh.
a lot of asian chicks are like immigrants and have that fresh off the boat personality. materialistic, spoiled, cares about appearance too much. i can't stand it. if they're engrained into western culture like i am then i don't mind it.
but an attractive girl is an attractive girl idc about race. i'd even say theres a better ratio of hot white chicks to hot asian chicks.

I think there are too many asians in Sydney. Most have begun to enter the clubbing and weekend partying scene with the drinking and dancing etc. It just seems to me that most asian girls have quite been quite spoilt and have a bitchy 'arrogant' personality thinking that they are untouchable and cute and could get any guy they wanted. In addition the immigration problem is quite bad and being an asian myself I feel quite ashamed of these types entering Western society.

To be fair to the OP, there is an unusually high number of good-looking Asian women in the city. So much so that even without yellow fever, you can't help but notice how much better looking they are than their white counter-parts. If I lived in the sticks, coming to the city would annoy/depress me too

I actually like a lot of K-pop (although generally I dont watch videos, just listen - Im too ad-hd to sit down and just watch a video, I want to do something else while listening!) but that was awful. Only reason to watch is that every person in that video looked flawless -.-
Anyway, I've seen a couple of Kpop groups live at GSL finals, and was kinda surprised at how different they look in real life --- Still pretty yeah, but human instead of some visually edited to perfection god or goddess. Some might say thats a plus!

Maybe you can turn this into a good thing. Stop watching kpop for a little bit and watch some movies or even better, read some books about what happens when you marry/date someone just for their looks :p
If you go to a glamor shot studio in China or I'm sure there are plenty in Korea too, you will see that everyone can look good if you apply enough foundation, make-up and fake eye lashes to them. KPop dancing is also not that difficult, a year or so of study should get you there. A good personality and an interesting mind takes a lifetime of conscious effort to nurture.

Lol, crashed my browser when I tried to play the first video. Gonna take that as a sign I should never watch k-pop unless it's forced on me when I'm watching a BW stream and not watch it. You don't stop it, you just keep wanting them until one day you realize you're idolizing fiction and you get over it. Just one of those things that comes with time.
Also, 99.5% of Chinese girls from China are gold diggers and ridiculously superficial. Dunno if the same applies to Koreans. (I have no actual proof of this, but friggin everyone was telling me this when I went back to China from the states so I'll take it as truth)

I work in a clerical role at a hospital. I pretty much just admit people. Today some pretty good looking japanese girl comes in to be admitted. She's there with her husband. I rush to make sure I get the paperwork before anyone else can so I'm the one admitting her. Flirt the entire time. Husband gives me strange looks.
