So I'm in Perth for two days while I'm off work. There's not much to do, I've got a few hours to kill before meeting my friends, all my errands are done.
I come across a place called MCinternet while strolling through the city, they've got a huge StarCraft poster hanging next to the front door. Interested, I step in and find my self in a Korean-run PC Bang in the heart of Perth's business district.
I haven't played videogames for a month, so the itch comes through and I purchase a three-hour pass. As I log on to their StarCraft account, I find myself in the Gold league on an account called "Cheese".
Even though my hands feel clumsy and I have a hard time remembering build orders, my EU skillz are sufficient to 3-reaper rush a terran and roll over a toss who will without doubt soon be joining the sad Zealot club T_T
The next game, I get asked about my peculiar account name?
"Cheese?" "Pc cafe username, no worries " "from?" "ger, but playing from pc bang in aus"
"lol ich auch, ich sitz in sidney" ["lol me too, but I'm in sidney"]
So there I am, fate or the all mighty MMR having me directed to a guy who's in the same exact same situation as me. My mind was blown-what are the odds? After he stomped my poorly executed marine/tank push, we chatted for quite some time, exchanging stories, travel advice and talking about the realities of backpacking. This is certainly not top of the blog ladder material, but I think it's a starcraft-related story worth telling. Talk to your opponents sometime guys, it can lead to interesting things

Cool story, I love when things happen like that.
Coincidentally one of my really good friends was born in Perth and now lives in Germany. :p

WOW nice story man :D. But a pc bang in perth, now thats strange... dont think we have one in melbourne :S
but yeah, coincidences are awesome xD

There isn't much to do in perth sight seeing wise but the food and coffee here is pretty good (though the food is fairly expensive relative to other places in Australia (good food))

You don't have internet cafes in melbourne? I find that impossible to believe. There are plenty of internet cafes in Perth that usually do both basic computer use and gaming use.

There is MC in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland as well.

lol... what are the chances of that?
Freaky...

Nice. Didn't know they have Korean-style PC Bangs in other countries.
