This is rage blog! In all it's meaning and potential. I am pissed off by all those leaving custom games, especially monobattles games. I will not acknowledge drops or other explanations, these are plain droppers. Check their match history. Their existence is solely based on ruining other people experience, they have tons of games played in one hour, just to fuck with all of us. I would like Blizzard to enable the "leaving the game debuff" similar to WOW PvP mechanics. If you willingly leave, or not, just leave the game for no apparent reason, you CANNOT join another game for 15minutes. I don't care that cat tripped your internet cable, kill the cat, if that annoys you. Just take the responsibility for the drop, it was your fault, intentional or not. It really pisses me off. I am mad, this is an angry blog post. Grrrrrrr

That's actually a good idea, but i dont think blizzard will listen though. Leavers make me rage as well
|
What if they've lost and left? They can't join for 15 minutes?
|
Meh i play tons of custom SH and xelnaga for practice and i'll usually leave games when i get someone thats unranked/low league/starter edition. Winning with worker rushes is only fun for a little while.
If anything blizzard should introduce an unranked matchmaker.

Simple, if you leave within 1min of the game then 15min block. Not that hard to do. It was implemented in WoW. It was also with afk rule ( if one goes afk, I believe that was 2min, then kick with 15min ban).
|
I wouldn't mind this rule but you should probably have leaving frequencies. I mean if power goes out it's not your fault. Sure it's your responsibility to stay connected but you can't hold a person accountable for every little disconnection. I just feel that if you've left X games over Y time, then you get punishments based on frequency.

You cannot have so many exceptions, otherwise it defeats the purpose of the "ban". So simple as: One leave the game before "the mark"=One gets punished. So simple. It works in WoW, you get 15min debuff no matter what, even if you drop in the middle of play for certain amount of time.

Just no. Mate this is StarCraft, not World of WarCraft. They are custom games. People don't care about custom games. If you want to play a game with godly customs and that people take those games seriously, go play WarCraft 3 that game had mean customs. StarCraft is only really taken seriously in the ladder or tournament 1v1 maps. Do not complain just because people don't share the same enthusiasm for you in StarCraft custom matches.
In addition some people actually join a game by accident. So what happens if they join by accident the game starts and they leave? What they can't play the game they meant to play for another 15mins? Just no....

Yeah I'll have to agree with this. I wouldn't hate it but then again I'm in the casual gamer market so my opinions are not as valid for bans and whatnot since they don't effect me that much.

Wow...I may stop making fun of people having ladder fear now, if someone can get that mad about people leaving a monobattle...
Naaaaa, no way.

I can bet You that at any time more people play non ladder games than the (duhhhhh) ladder games. And for all I care, "the ban", it doesn't have to include ladder games. However don't just disrespect other users of battle.net. I see is as a pure competition. If there is someone who just want to fuck with someone's time (one spends few minutes to get game going,) just to see it getting messed with for pure amusement. This leads only to lost time, and as far as it goes for me time is precious. I don't care if someone wins or loses, but if you take the little time I have on this earth, just to mess with me, it makes me mad.

Had to deal with this all the time in BW, just make another game and move on. I mean seriously, it's not that huge of a deal

That's exactly right. This game isn't known for its customs. It's known for it's ladder and its competitiveness in the ladder. Customs are a side to keep the casual busy if he doesn't want to ladder but wants to play StarCraft.

Honestly don't believe they are "messing" with you. A custom game is a side attraction to them. I am sorry you are saving your precious time for customs. Don't get mad mate. Just remake. You have to understand, people don't care about customs. If they are bored or don't like the map they will leave regardless of your attitude towards the map. Live and let live.

to be fair in bw if someone left before the game started u could do a ninjaquit before game started. This stupid bnet 2.0 traps u in so u have to log out then log back in. Not to mention in custom games sometimes I just wanna tvt, but instead of being able to name your own custom game so u get to play what you want its completely random.

Wasn't implemented for DotA in war3, doubt it would be put in for sc2 custom games.
|
I 1v4'd a team in a custom monobattle so it's not that bad. I'm not sure how I won and neither were they. Just think of it as a challenge.

Yeah they should try to do something about that (still disagree that its someone's fault when he gets dropped), i try to think if the actually leavers want to leave every game thats ok, how pathetic are you then... (its still lame).. But they also really should fix ''pending'', omg a host should be able to kick that dude, it takes forever to play a game. Also blizzard should do something if you join custom that it starts within a sec, so you dont have a chance to decide i dont want to do this (like with fun or not).
|
^ I think the host said someone shouldn't join games if their internet connection is shit and is likely to get them dropped.
