Yep that's how I feel and is how I've always handled TL, I always try to make sure that my posts aren't too short as well and maybe throw some depth into them when possible. I also personally like to say something nice to the OP when I post (I pick the threads I talk in, I don't post in all that I read) since I think having something nice said can always make someone have a better day/night. TL is a great place for creative and nice posters which is why I stuck around personally. Oh and the easy grammar fixing stuff is so sexy, I have to use it almost every post. lol

Ideal poster for me = not shitty. If I don't notice you, you're probably ok. Once you've gotten past the non-shitty stage, then as long as you post meaningful content that contributes to the thread, you're doing great.
EDIT: Here is a quick userguide. After you post something, ask yourself: "is this a shitty post?" If it is, then you probably shouldn't post it. Unfortunately, lots of people fail this test. But it's a good place to start.

But really just try to be helpful and not troll a whole lot(or atleast make it obvious) and dont post 1 liners or memes or go 1st

Id add iDra to the list. For me there is no other poster here that can even come close in the intelligent execution of succinct dry humor and witty sarcasm. The "idra quotes" subsection of archive section of his fan club is by far the most entertaining text only section on this site. Its actually what got me visiting here often before I started to explore other parts of the site.(That and liquipedia)

This is not the problem you're facing. Well reasoned, clever arguments often trump politeness, unless the person is being extremely vulgar.
You were banned for posting stuff like "didnt bother reading the other stuff." Honest? Perhaps. But posting "you're wrong" and nothing else may be honest but it does not require much intellectual rigor.

To me, an ideal poster has to be sharp and intelligent, but they also need presence of mind of what they're posting and where they're posting it.
A common problem we run into on the forum are people who feel they're entitled to broadcast their opinion in any way they want. This often means they create their own threads instead of posting in pre-existing ones, because it's more likely for their posts to be ignored at the end of a 90 page thread than if they make their own. That's obviously true but that's simply how engaging in a discussion with other people works. If everyone thought that way, the forums would be a bigger mess than they already are.
On top of that, they also need to have some cleverness about them and understand that this is the internet, and all the things that that loaded statement entails.
It also means not posting out of a gut reaction, but instead considering the situation and being able to understand the motivations/feelings of the other side of an argument. Occasionally it's ok to be caught up in your emotions, but this type of presence of mind is something I think the vast majority of people could improve upon.
I disagree with your list, OP, but I'll leave it at that.

I think it's really hard to always post in an intelligent manner.
For me, I try to balance it. If I see a serious thread I do my best to post seriously without getting confrontational. I'm sure I have been confrontational at times, or a lot of the times actually, but I think it's just the Internet that gives us the balls.
On the other hand, I then go to the Anime Discussion Thread and just type in "lol those lolis are cute" and then end my day.
I think it's just about posting appropriately. You don't say the latter statement in the Libya thread, but it might be okay when you're surrounded by people who know you and the thread is more light hearted and fun.

I consider myself a total troll, I don't filter myself on these forums too much.
Never have been temped or banned in nearly 500 posts for over 2 years.
IMO it's all about attitude, or I should say the attitude you're in when you're on TL.
If you come to TL after a 10 loss streak on ladder, then of course your chances of being banned are higher. People who are banned aren't necessarily lesser humans than those who aren't l0l.
When I'm angry, I don't log in so I can't post, best strat ever.
I think TL mods should just try a bit harder to differentiate between assholes/trolls and people who are just upset. Of course that's a lot of work to do (compared to banning normally), but it'd be better.
Oh well, can't be perfect, but TL still funnest forum to be around for me
