Ok, so here is the story: I went out with friends on friday night. I was quite tipsy, when I met my "friend" from high school. He's sort of troublemaker, and he was completely drunk. He was making quite a mess, so the "security guys" (dunno the word in english) took him out of the bar and beat him up quite badly. At first, when I saw this, I was like "whatever, he was really drunk and making lot of trouble", but then I saw them kicking him on the ground, so I came to them and started saying things like "leave him, he has learned the lesson". Well, that was a mistake, they started saying things like if I dont wanna end up like him I'd better shut up. Then police came, so I wanted to say to them everything. Well, the catch is, the police in our town are friends with the "security guys", so they just basicaly laughed into my face (when I was saying the procedure of security guys was inadequate). After police left, it became even worse, those 2 security guys began to physically threaten me and saying things like "I won't never come to this club again, I really fucked up my life now, that I am dead now" etc etc. So me and my friend took taxi straight to police station. I just wanted to report everything that happened. The problem was, the two police guys (that were at the club earlier) were already at the police station. So we had a little argument again. Long story short, they asked me whether I am drunk. I told them truth, that I had few beers. They told me that I am not eligible to give a cross examination (I had 0.6 per mille of alcohol in blood). Ok, I got this, but then when I said that the two security guys were not acting within the law, the police officer replied something like:"wtf, ur living in czech republic, do you think everything in here is within the law?" That make me really angry, does that mean, that I am eligible to rob a bank, just because I live in a country where everything is upside down???? They told me I need to come again tomorrow (when I am sober) to told them what happened. The question is, should I? I don't even know, why I went to the police station in the first place, maybe I should just act like nothing happened. I don't even care about the "friend" who got beaten up. The problem is, I dont wanna have any problems with the "security guys" at that club, I wanna be able to go there again. The problem is, they are completely brainless and they prolly just beat the shit out of me the next time they see me. So what should I do know, TL, any advice? PS. sorry for any english mistakes, I am not native speaker + I am still a little tipsy.
tl;dr: Some "security" guys beaten up my friend, when police came, I told them what happened. But those guys and police knows each other, so the police were acting like nothing happened and when police left, the "security" guys started to threaten me. I just want to be able to come to that club again without anyone threatening me, what should I do?

Ouch, I'm not sure what to say, but to preempt a few people, for future reference: do not talk to police. I'm not sure what the best thing to do would be in your case, though...so I can only wish you the best of luck with this

You should not go to that club again..
|
You should report them to a higher authority (except those guys are probably friends with the police).
|
Yea I'd probably stay away form that club. Is there another one around you can go to? Some people don't understand consequence and won't hesitate to end your life, or ruin it at the least.
I find stories like these sad because the little guy (you) is left quite powerless against the "man". It happens all the time though, and unless you have like video footage or something you probably can't do anything about it. And that might not even be enough Oo

Ya, if theres something underhanded going on you want to stay away. Club < Life

I live in a quite small town, so there is not very much clubs to choose from. But ye, I think I have no other choice here. Well I can still report them to higher authority, but that can end up the same way like calling police cuz of inappropriate behaviour of the security. Btw I dont have any video footage, I have a LOT of friends, that were watching, but they were all drunk...

Lay low for a long time. Then maybe after awhile go back. Try and "buy" the security guards (they are called "bouncers" in english) so they are favorable to you. Buy them a round, or simply talk to them, apologize (even if you dont really mean it, you got nothing to lose), and most importantly dont bring anyone who will get you in trouble.....again.

Obviously a fucked situation, but you have to determine how much energy you want to put into fighting this. What do you want to get out of the situation? If you want justice for the sake of justice, that will be a long road that most likely ends up with more trouble for you and you never going back to the bar (until/unless the "security bros" are removed). If you just want to go back to the bar and enjoy yourself whenever you please, than drop it. Go about your business, if security guys give you shit buy them a drink. All depends on what you want...

Let it go, u got screwed. There is nothing positive that can come for pursing this further.

wow, some corruptness in the place where you love.
i recommend just dont go there for a while, say a month or two. after that go in an just enjoy yourself. if they come up to you and threaten you again, just apologize, say you wont make any trouble, and buy them a drink or something. if they refuse, leave and never go there again.

Sad to say it, but once corruption goes this deep there's not much you can do. If laws are being broken you can try to find a lawyer who will take the case, but I'm not sure how much luck you'd have with that. You could also go to the police chief with the issue, it's actually quite common for lower rank police officers to act like this and if anyone in a position of power is going to give a shit about the situation it'd be the chief.
Shitty people happen, but I'd recommend just keeping your head low for awhile and those thugs will forget your face eventually.

Censured, this type of stuff happens in every country. Unfortunately the police are the "law on the street" and if they won't help you there's nothing you can do to pursue justice. You could try with the supervisor/constable or whatever ranking police official is there in a well written letter and a follow-up call. As long as you present yourself well I don't see a reason he wont hear your case. And the club is private property, if the bouncers don't want you back then you really shouldn't go.. they can and probably will remove you by force. It's not worth risking imo. Police or no police on your side you've been marked as unwelcome at the club. Sorry dude.

So your friend was being a dick and the bouncers fucked him up and you want to use the police to get back at the bouncers and you know that the bouncers are friendlies with the police.
Sorry bro, this is pretty much what the bouncers are there for, you know.. fuck up people who causes trouble.
You are disputing the degree of force used against your friend but not disputing the fact that your friend was a dick and probably deserved a beating...
But hey you live in a eastern European country with probably a more higher accepted level of force use against a douche in a night club... what can I say?
Just be glad you don't live in my city. A guy was being a dick in the casino but never started a fight still got owned and died after not being able to breathe while being held down.
Bouncers are meat heads who go hard because that's what they are hired for. Lesson learned? Don't give them an excuse, tell your friend not to be a dick.

I don't get it. You want to report the guys to the police, but you also don't want to have any problems with them and return to the club?
If the police decided to pursue this, found witnesses, etc. this could go court. The security guys could go to prison or at least lose their jobs. So you're basically trying to destroy their lives. Not saying you should or you shouldn't, just don't expect them to be nice to you while you do it.
Also, the police won't help you, unless they feel they have no other choice. It's up to you but I'd expect it to be much more work than just a couple of hours at the police station.
|
What you should have done is kept an eye out for your friend and as soon as he starts some thing, take him to one side and calm him down or go up to the bouncers apologize and take your friend home.
If you want to pursue damages etc... better go to a doctor and get him to write you up for the injuries and then sue the club for negligence on duty of care (This is of course assuming in your country, the judges give a shit about this kinda of stuff).
Don't both going back to the police unless you have something that can twist their arms, their messages were pretty clear, they don't give a fuck about some random teenagers getting their ass beat.
|
Honestly, if this REALLY bothers you and you want to devote your life to bringing justice, you need to find a way to make millions of dollars, buy the club out and fire the two bouncers.
Short of that it sounds like you're screwed.
