Just a little rant about the hon changes and how I got perma-banned from their forums for being a jackass.
Basically last Friday HoN went free to play, introduced an early-access system for new heroes where you can pay money to play them a few weeks in advance of their "official release", and, worst of all, removed the 250 gold bonus for randoming in all-pick mode.
That last one really ticked me off, I randomed in basically every AP I played, the extra gold was awesome and, because of that, I can play basically all the heroes decently well now. So I came up with a brilliant strategy: random heroes in banning pick, since now there's no difference! So I posted on the forums that one way people like me could boycott this change was to random heroes in BP, notorious for being a more "competitive mode". To be fair, I did say that I would random heroes in BP even if I was the last pick and we needed a specific role, but that was more for emphasis than anything.
A few people agreed, a majority disagreed, but later on I realized that I would actually rather random in BP than in AP because you'll never have to deal with people picking the flavor-of-the-month imba heroes *cough*Fayde*cough*, it's a win-win from my perspective! Naysayers commented that by randoming in BP regardless of your spot on the picking queue can ruin games. Sometimes that's true, like randoming a second or third carry when you need a support. In my defense I said that if S2 didn't think people should random in BP, they would remove the option of randoming all together, right?
Anyway today I tried to access the forums and was banned for "inciting people to ruin games." My only regret is not being able to ask them whether or not they thought that randoming a hero in a mode where they allow you to random your hero counts as ruining the game. 
Just wanted to get that off my chest, first time I've ever been banned from a forum, although I admit I was being a jackass about it in that thread and probably deserved the ban. Hon forums suck anyway, especially compared to the glorious TL.net! Also, at least I wasn't banned in-game 
Still can't wait for dota 2 to completely obliterate the whole hon/lol scene though.

LoL (pun intended), some mods are quite funny sometimes
I also eagerly await Dota 2 so the whole HoN vs LoL debate can end and everyone starts playing Dota again.

$2 is a piece of shit. IMO HoN is a way better game then LoL but with how they've done business I regret ever purchasing it. Couple days before they went free to play "this is your last chance to buy 10$ accounts!" JK ITS FREE LOL. Assholes. Not to mention they entirely ignore their community forums but then post on reddit. /rage

This. Pretty much no one will play HoN since it's just Dota with different graphics and, IMO, more boring heroes. LoL however is quite different from Dota and might very well retain a lot of users. The most competitive ones will go to Dota 2 since they were probably competitive in Dota 1, but I think the competitive scene in Lol will still be pretty strong.

I have no idea why they have done that.
Now people do not have an advantage of picking random, which is just stupid. People should have an advantage because they are willing to play a random hero and not focus on one/a couple.
Then again, I haven't played HoN for like 6 months so because of all the stuns and auto-aim spells around(point and clicks, almost no skill shots), roamers being bad(when you play Andromeda, you basically hope that your opponents are bad and run around ganking), harass being non-existent due to the reasons above(you cannot do anything alone, which again makes Roamers worse).
And to not make this a LoL v HoN wars, I dislike League of Legends as well due to it being slower paced overall as well as the advantages, although small, you get by simply leveling your account.
Also to not make this a Dota 2 beats everything rant: If DotA 2 has the same amount of stuns/point and clicks as HoN, or if Roamers are non-existent/bad, I'm not going to play it.

It's bloody AP, if you random BEFORE everyone else calls a hero comp they can have a four-member team that can do quite well, with his random playing the Courier/wardbitch/ganksupport role just for having that extra gold boost. Even if it's a second carry, the extra gold can still go to what amounts to a free courier for the roamers.

Last time I played HoN it was getting DDOS to hell.... I think it was because they forgot to include India's flag or something? Anyways, after playing alot of Starcraft for awhile, it's amazing how spoiled you feel manner wise jumping back into a game like HoN. Though I will admit, there is not a better game to troll in if you got some sort of troll itch goin'

You used to get random gold in AP??? I would always random in AP and never get a bonus... (non casual)
