Some back story: apparently there is a section of seating in the crowd reserved for players, media, team reps, etc. A redditor's cousin won access to this area through some contest. Upon returning from a bathroom break/whatever they noticed a bald guy sitting in their seats. This bald guy was Sundance. Without knowing, they had asked Sundance to move and he happily obliged, without making it known who he was.

The next time that they get up they decide to leave some personal effects on their seat as a way of indicating that the seat was occupied. I'm told by people that attended MLG that this was fairly common practice. Xeris, when noticing two unoccupied seats, takes it upon himself to displace the items on the seat. When told the purpose of the items he was throwing onto the floor and that those seats were being held for winners of a contest Xeris had this to say, "I won these too ... through hard work."

Really Xeris?

MLG management: respectful members of the community, awesome event all around.
NASL management: will throw your shit on the ground.

There was literally only two guys in the Reddit thread who can back up the story of Xeris kicking him out. Only one guy heard "Yeah, we won these seats too... through hard work." The other guy said nothing other than Xeris kicked them out. For some reason, I think there is another side to the story.

Seriously, Xeris has been a community contributor since the days of BW. You can bash NASL all you want (because it definitely did have its problem), but you cannot say that NASL did not do a good thing for e-sports (though I've actually seen some people with bigger self-entitlement issues actually say so) and you cannot say the Xeris did a big part in advancing that. Xeris has brought us Fnatic.MSI with his hard work as well. It is two random reddit posters vs Xeris. I think I'm going to give Xeris the benefit of the doubt.

Wow, Xeris is a garage dog.

I guess he is too stupid, or too absorbed in the warped version of reality he resides in where he is important, to realize that without people like the ones he stole seats from he would be even more worthless than he already is.

Free Dr Pepper. I think I had about 8 of these during the day. Will let you know if I get diabetes. The only problem here was that the size of the bathrooms was in no way relative to the amount of free Dr Pepper being handed out! It was rare to get into the bathroom with less than 5-10 people lining up, which was annoying, but a necessary evil, I guess!

Thanks to the organisers, players and fans! If you met a big, excited, wide-eyed, Australian noob running around on a sugar high at some point on day two, it was probably me.

I think I'm the only one that walked slightly further into the Hilton to use their super nice, completely EMPTY bathrooms with 8 perfectly clean stalls and a ton of urinals compared to the TWO shitty stalls and TWO urinals at the event. There was no way I was waiting in line when Hilton was around a 3 minute walk (took less time to even go there since no line).

Also, to all the seating complaints, I heard they knwe there would be more but are limited to a certain amount of seats for safety reasons/firehazard/etc. Although they should just pack Halo/CoD into a corner or side somewhere and move the 100 total spectators that showed up for those two events combined and used their stages to feature SC2!

Uh there was a bathroom outside the hall that had only two stalls / two urinals, but the one inside had like 40 stalls (I think they took over the women's room for us?). Even after big games there was never a huge wait. Did you not see the bathroom inside? It was on the middle of the wall on the Halo side.

Also, having watched the stream and then gone there in person - their crowd mic was not on or something. It was VERY loud in person, incredibly exciting to be amongst.

No one should be surprised at Xeris's actions. Anyone who reads any of his posts can see the arrogance in them. The funny thing is most people wouldn't be able to pick him out of a lineup, nor name any of the things he's done in e-sports that he thinks should make him so entitled. He is by no means some pillar of the community like a Day9.

That is some flawed ass logic youve got there
Same reasoning leads to the flagrant abuse seen in many communities by the police, its just "random people" vs "upholders of justice."

I've heard xeris has had his head up his ass a few times before this, no surprise here

i went the first day and got to sit pretty far in the front, sitting behind incontrol and his gf. it was fun but the games were SUPER short because of korean domination (it was like 20 minutes of games and 45 minutes of waiting.) The background music after games were super loud (like you're at a club). It would've been nice to have some peace and quiet, but we didn't want to lose our seats lol.

i didn't bother going day 2 or 3 because it was REALLY crowded, and we knew there was no chance of getting seats unless you go super early in the morning. If we had to stand far in the back, there gets a point where it's actually hard to watch the games because the projector was far away.

i got to see mma and mvp play up close when they weren't playing on the main stage though, so that was really cool. how often do you get to see a top korean's fpvod? (besides byun streaming or something). they play so quick but efficient, its amazing

bleachers would've been awesome or something along those lines. sucks for the people who have to stand behind people who are 6'5'' and/or 300 pounds lol

Sundance is a cool guy and gotta give props to him for running MLG so smoothly. Yeah, MLG had some rocky events, but they've been improving each time.

If this is truth Sundance's attitude is the reason MLG success and Xeris (we need his side of the story) is the reason NASL isn't doing so well, they doesn't understand customers and how to run the business.

NASL is doing fine, technical bumps were the main reasons they lost some interest. The fact that it's drawn out in a season means they won't be hitting maximum viewers every day but will receive spikes when fan favourites are playing.

Attitude honestly has nothing to do with NASL "failing" or MLG being a success. The reason it's a success is because hardwork is put in and they do a good job on the technical scene.

I thought the NASL playoffs was better than Anaheim really (aside from Day 1). WAY more chairs, 3 screens, clear sound that could be heard at any angle. Always autograph signings between games. Of course MLG has 2 other stages that could interfere with the sound for SC2 so I can't blame them TOO much... MLG also had much more lopsided matches (maybe due to inserting Koreans into the NA kiddy pool ). NASL's playoff format is easy to follow. MLG feels like a bit of a mess. Of course NASL inserted a bunch of players into the playoffs which had many Koreans participate which gave us more interesting games. Going back to the format, since MLG is a bit rushed (huge open bracket and lots of group play) they can't have the big macro maps cause they take too long. This means we get a lot of the smaller maps, 1 push 1 kill type of games. Also, Xeris is a dick, but this is bad journalism you should've gotten Xeris' side of the story before posting that.

Just as there are a ton of nice people who used to kill esports by restreaming GSL season 1, some can be a total asshole and still be a great contributor to the community.

I too was at MLG, great great event. Biggest problem ever:lack of seats. I know Sundance did have more seats this time, than in Columbus, but the fact is, more people were standing than sitting for the majority of MLG. This has definitely got to change! Also, extremely disliked how there was only 1 stream at the event, they should've had 2 streams up. Also I wished they could've spared a big TV just for results, I found it fairly difficult to keep up with a lot of the results of all the games. Another improvement would be actually showing the casters on stage, similar to NASL. It could've sorta been set up sort of like late night talk shows, in which the interview couch is angled slightly at the desk (the commentating desk). I also felt that having to wait 2hours just to register into the convention center was pretty ridiculously stupid, and felt that the "gold member" thing was sort of a nickel and diming tactic. Just charge us more straight up, don't make another tier called "gold".

On the positive, amazing games, liked how their were 2 screens set up showing where the matches were being played, and when.

Xeris having an ego is a joke... and his girl friend thinking she is E-Famous because she is with him... ( -_- ) no comment. Incontrol's gf is the only one in the community making waves as far as i know...
anyways Xeris showing exactly why no one seems to like him. Also no surprised we are not hearing his side of the story.. because there is nothing to tell plenty of witnesses to justify what happened.

He's just the manager of Fnatic.MSI. They would be here with or without him. And he's been like this for a long time. If you've been around awhile you'd know that.

The old BW commentator GGRise posted about him too.

"I met xeris IRL at WCG US finals that I was supposed to cast in NYC. I can confirm: he is a dick. I was standing watching either idra or machine playing and he literally walked and stood right in front of me - as in my shirt was touching his. I tapped him on the shoulder and asked him "excuse me, is there a reason you stepped right in front of me?" to which he replied "I felt like it" so I told him to "get out of my fucking way before I make you get out of my fucking way."
eg.colbi was standing next to me and said "dude, this is motherfucking xeris." I not so calmly replied "I don't give a fuck who he is, you don't get in front of someone like that" (other than incontrol maybe, he's a much bigger guy than me) and he got out of the way.
If he didn't, I was planning on pushing him over the midget barrier >:D
tl;dr yes, xeris is a big douche IRL"

still no fucking reason to act so fucking retarded, seriously just cuz you consider yourself a big shot and owning up places like that, and that there are already two who can comfirm that (even in VIP area where you find that much forum users) says enough.
