I just got some new headphones because I wanted to enjoy a nice sound system rather than my laptop's front-only speakers. I literally could not hear anything with my laptop's speakers on full volume and the TV turned to a normal volume. At first I didn't mind or even think about my laptop's speakers. Then one day, I was just browsing around in one of my nearby BestBuy shops.
Holy crap, what I found there and am using now is so good.
I don't really know much about headsets and the like, so I resort to some that gamers use and suggest. I browse YouTube for game videos a lot, so when I found the name Turtle Beach on one of the BestBuy racks, I knew that was what I should get. All those Call of Duty videos I've watched (strange, because I have never owned one and played it for me, myself, and I) with the commentators suggesting Turtle Beach for soundwhoring and all that really sensitive shit that only a gamer would care about. I saw videos of those guys running around the corner nonchalantly and just shooting the hell out of a guy I never expected to be there. So I didn't question it anymore. I bought the Turtle Beach Earforce X11.
This is my second day using it, and every time I think about my laptop speakers, my appreciation for this headset just starts over and over again. This is also my first surround sound headset (not surround sound experience, obviously), and I was blown away by the sound quality and all.
Now here's where it gets weird. I've never had this feeling before when watching movies at the cinema, or just with my home theater. Only through my headset speakers.
Starting at 14 seconds
The helicopter blades moving around are phenomenal. I can somewhat pinpoint where the sound is trying to place the helicopter. But whenever it moves around, I get this tingling feeling in my lower back. It kind of tickles, it kind of makes it sensitive, it kind of hurts. It's definitely not chills down the back, because I love the feeling of chills down the back. This feeling makes me a little anxious. I want it to stop, but I hardly know what it is, and why it's there.
Is there no option to modify surround sound and other headset features for it in the control panel under sound? Most modern headsets are able to be configured in the sound subsection of the control if they don't come their their own software.

i recommend not listening to the test again -_-
Avoid helicopters. Also, this is funny, because I just noticed that the surround sound with my headset, haha. After years of gaming, I guess I just have been taking it for granted :p.
The video claims to contain samples of 34 Hz and 20 Hz tones. Low frequency sounds are supposed to cause anxiety or terror because of their resemblance to a lion's roar, which should naturally be terrifying. The quality of your headphones may allow playback of such low frequencies.
I don't know when exactly the 20 Hz tone starts, but this is just a possibility.
I can't tell you what the feeling "is", but i know what you mean... I had the same experience listening to this . I have gotten used to it now so i kinda don't notice it anymore.
It is the very high pitched squeal of the helicopter engines.
I worked with helicopters in Iraq, and they have a distinct very high pitched noise when their engines cut on. With ear protection on it's tolerable, but this one sounds like that "nails on a chalkboard" sound. This doesn't sound like any helicopter I am used to, and it is very irritating to listen to... I don't like it either OP.

Wow, that was great! These headphones are truly the best, haha. I noticed that the hairclippers and the scizzors gave me the same anxiety I had when listening to the helicopters.

No, I don't think it's that. I have no problem listening to the helicopter's blades with my laptop speakers. I don't know exactly why though.
I thought about this more and came to the conclusion that I'm getting this feeling of anxiety because I don't know where exactly the thing making the sounds is. I can generally tell which direction it is coming from, but I don't know it like I would know something in front of my eyes.
But then I remembered I also get this feeling at the barber shop when they are cutting close to my hair. I can actually see where they're cutting, and I still feel the same anxiety. So that debunks my conclusion up there.
Maybe the sounds are just too loud and close for comfort? I don't know, but I am trying so hard to figure this out.
