I basically sat this morning just fiddling around with the oscillator controls and it just so happened that the two bits I had fit together somewhat. This is basically what it sounds like to be honest. Just fiddling around.

Kind of reminds me of Dr Oizo or Benny Benassi. Pretty good for a start, but it does kind feel like it's dragging towards the end. Your drops are kind of well placed, but lack "oomph". A little more variety in sounds and melodies would be nice. Try not to throw down such a static bass line, because it can really dictate the flow of the song. Tighten up your timings a little bit.

I read this, played the song, and burst out laughing.
I think the 'dubstep' part of the song (with the deep and thick notes) was too repetitive. It doesn't sound better if you slowly add drum beats to it. Just put a little more work, and I'm sure it will sound fine .

As someone who listens to a lot of this type of music, I found it really not that bad, but not that good either. It was like it had the potential to be good but wasn't. Keep at it imo. Really if you just cleaned up the lawnmower part a little bit it could easily be pretty decent.

We all start some place, my advice to you, is to go on youtube watch a bunch of tutorials. I am using FL studio too, and if you have some questions, feel free to ask!

Consider studying harmony.

Get some nice books on any music shop or find them on internet. Harmony is dense, but absolutely necesary for music.
Any song should have a pattern, well defined, clean and sweet for the ears. You kinda made a pattern, but didn't work on it enough probably because you lack the knowledge to do it (wich is normal if you havent study music before).
Find any book you can about music theory and study them. It wont be boring, it will open your eyes to the huge wonderful world of music.
One personal tip: try to get rid of FL as soon as you can. It isnt powerful enough. From cubase & protools, to ardour... there are plenty of stronger applications out there to create digital music.
Also, dont fear to research any info you can get about professional audio. Its a technical world, but digital professional audio tools are your instrument. Dont hesitate to analyse and study it!
I've been into music since I was 3 years old and started playing violin. I swear you wont regret to study music theory. I thought I would, but actually I didn't when I tried.
