In the UK, the esports scene isnt big. North america and eastern europe seem to have quite a strong hold, but I never see any IEM tournaments in London? (or any other kind for that matter)
My point is, gaming which is a 3 billion pound industry in the UK, is the biggest media platform above film and magazines... So why is are esports soo lacking?
One of my observations with the uk gaming scene is that its turned very console based, and theres nothing wrong with that. Except, the generation comming up now, and indeed my generatin. Havn't experience lan/tournament/arcade style play at its best. All of it is online, you log on to CoD with your friends, chat a load of shit, insult people and spray for a few hours...
This... however fun it may be, is good and all.
But theres a handful of gamers (mainly pc gamers) who want to get involved in lan events, but are stuck watching streams from the successers of east europe, north america .. and the mighty Korean scene..
Im really interested in getting involved, and helping unite some of these gamers into growing our esports...
This is the first installment of my blog, please feel free to comment, message me and give me any feedback ... Many thanks
