Wow, I thought all people over the age of about 10 understood how dangerous it is to take rides with strangers. (Especially men much older than you.) Also, if you're going to go to events at least budget enough so that you don't have to do things that could land you in a lot of trouble. I hope you learned a lesson from that experience and don't put yourself in the same type of danger these days >.>
Pfft.
Sometimes the outside world is too harsh for Pandain. Sometimes the heat gets to him. Three times he has been forced to find shelter in the car of a complete stranger to get home XD.
The world's a nice place, and you can tell if someone is a bit creepy.

Admittedly, i've greatly improved my irl nerd social skills since then, but I was dying for anyone to come talk with me that con!

It's true. It's pretty easy to read people, especially when they're doing favors for you!
Also, people love helping others out, so you'd be surprised how many people are willing to lend a hand to complete strangers!

Repeated only the back stage part, which I will share (complete with exclusive blizzard interview with riku and her guild video). ;p

Not in the slightest. I'd rather have the sense not to put myself into idiotic situations like that, than some desire to seem cool by doing so. I just don't get people like that who think it's so amusing/cool to put themselves in danger. Whether it's from drinking to excess or hitchhiking when they haven't had the common sense to ensure themselves a decent method of getting home. I'd rather avoid potentially upsetting/dangerous/costly situations by doing some simple planning.

You're looking to get hurt if you want me to be honestly blunt. Though, to balance that out, I hope you are more careful next time (as you seem to imply).

It's not the first time I've encountered this style of thinking though. As if taking risks with your personal safety (and that of others) is somehow very cool. I can understand it when it comes to doing extreme sports, but when it's related to the whole 'OMG I was so drunk last night I blacked out in some stranger's house blah blah blah.' sort of thing it baffles me.
Why would I possibly be jealous of someone like that?

It's more of a reminiscence of her first Blizzcon, how naive, silly and stupid going there unplanned (not thinking ahead). This is injunction with how "young" she was, new and surrounded by strangers/new people.
I'm assuming/hoping this wouldn't occur again.

*Nods* I understand that. I'm not leveling these sentiments at her, but I'm still confused as to why any sane 18 year old would take a lift from a 40 year old male stranger. Don't parents educate their kids about these things? My mum certainly did.

Cool your knickers off, Never.
1) It was a story about how young and dumb I was at my first Blizzcon.
2) It was the only time in my life I had ever done such a thing.
3) I don't think it was cool, but I think you overreacted, so I trolled you. Herp. Balls of steel. Derp.
4) The only time I was at risk was crashing at my newly made friend's place and four other people knew I was there.
5) During the drive, I had my phone in my hand at all times and watched to make sure we were going to the right place. If we weren't, I could have called 911 or done something else WELL before he could do anything without crashing the car.
6) Stop with this whole "didn't parents ever..." thing. Duh, common knowledge. It's also common knowledge than teenagers are dumb and think they are invincible. Never in my blog did I state it was a good idea and, in fact, at the end, I noted how remarkable it was that I wasn't raped or murdered.

It's also common knowledge that old Duke Nukem memes aren't that funny.

i dont think ur dumb, just innocent like all young people should be.
