Not saying that all TF2 fans are, bear that in mind.
Ever since TF2 became a free-to-play game, there are people who constantly bitch about wanting a refund for the game and other problems like the game will have too many newbies and that people will exploit the free-to-play system by making multiple accounts.
I don't know what I have to say regarding the multiple accounts part but here's what I can say for the other two points that the whiners are bitching about:
1. If you bought TF2 then, you are and still getting the full package of the game. You can get all the items that are dropped randomly, trade with people, give gifts and much more. Everything you need to know is right here:

2. TF2 is going to have too many newbies? So what? I thought people would be happy taking down a newbie.
Valve has done a great deal for the gaming community, particularly the ones who belong on the PC side. The fact that they are being flamed like this literally gives me a migraine. I mean, Valve has done things that not many have ever considered doing: providing excellent service towards it's fanbase. It's just like with Portal 2, where people are whining about the DLC that was supposed to be free, when in reality the DLC that they were whining about is just the same thing with Mann Co and not the selling of maps. Jesus, it just sickens me.

the hat was a pathetic item give away for people who bought the game, although, ive spent 700 hours from paying £15. more than worth it. some people are just haters and dont like change.
However im having the best fun ever smashing noobs :D

Pathetic? I dunno about that. I kinda like the hat. More fitting for the Soldier though

I don't want a refund even though I did buy the game a week ago. I just wish for some compensation. And yes I know you get that WW1 hat but it is very ugly looking in my opinion. I think people who bought the game also have the privilege of trading items and people who didn't can't, but I don't think it would hurt me at all if I didn't have that privilege in the first place. I just want something cool for my purchase is all.

I'm happy with noobs,since I play medic it's really easy to guide them and enjoy playing at the same time.
The ungreatful ones are those who pretty much never enjoyed the game in the first place.
For such great memories the last 4 years,I'd pay double for it.

Destroying noobs on pubs with the new rocket launcher is good fun. There's always going to be ungrateful little bastards whining about absolutely everything. Fact of the matter is that long-time players are not being penalized in any way. More players means better longevity for the game since a few will probably find their way into the competitive scene which will then grow. Sure there are a lot of noobs on your average pub server, but if that annoys you get into competetive and play with a team.
The biggest problem is the ease of which you can now create a new account and then cheat on, halthough I don't think that's going to be nearly as big of a problem as people are making it out to be.

My thoughts exactly. I logged 370 hours on that game back when I used to play it, and the fun I had with it and the other games from the Orange Box were worth way more than the mere 30 dollars paid for them.
I am very excited about this move. Two of my closest gamer friends have never played TF2 because they've never had the money to get it, and now I can play this wonderful game with them for free.

The game was retail for fucking 4 years and I have logged over 4,500 hours on it. I have no complaints about it being F2P (I don't play anymore).
But this whole blog about how TF2 fans are ungrateful is pointless because they've always been whiny suck-ups on the forums. Since the Halo and the purchasing of hats, etc. They're just illogical whiners.

TF2 community is pretty bad, esp considering valvue implemented the hats and weapons in pretty much the most fair way possible without shitting up gameplay. But the minecraft community... they make me want to gouge out my eyes. But then I wouldn't be able to feed my addiction any longer.

I want a refund because of how fucking terrible TF2 is now. Game used to be good; but it all went downhill after the spy/sniper patch. It was already on the slippery slope prior, but I couldn't bear it after spy/sniper update.

Yeah, I want a refund of all my games too because they're no longer good. Give me a refund of Far Cry, Far Cry 2 came out and makes Far Cry 1 terrible.
